It is really hot in LA
 

I am in Newport Beach and it is just hot. We only open our windows for ventilation but mid-day / evening, you just sweat.

My Pug is so hot, he just drinks water and lays right beside the refridgerator. Seriously.

Thanks goodness the surf is coming in this morning, the water feels good.

Hardly any beach pads come with AC, it is rarely needed.

I may go ask the hot neighbor girls that layout all day to come fan me.

Oh tell me about it, with the new southerly swell breaking on our beaches combined with your heat this morning, you can't shake a stick at all the valley people taking waves.

I drove down there on Thursday from the valley and was staying with some friends down on Balboa island. It was great being right on the water and about 5 or six houses from the ferry to Newport.

No surfing though but went in the ocean and it felt great. The water wasn't bad at all. It's actually kind of scary some of those waves since they break right on the shore. I'm surprised no one broke their neck trying to bodysurf.

A few body surfers did almost get hurt this weekend, but not from the waves breaking over the jetties.

I was going to mention that it's hot up here too, but then I got sidetracked with the usual Cory is such a gay acting guy that I forgot about it.

Does it get hotter in Newport than up here in Manhattan Beach (south bay, LA county)? It's been nice here, maybe getting up to 80 but that's not too bad. I do wish beach places came with AC too...seems like with the high rent here we should at least have the option to turn it on if we want.

Not too far, I am mostly surfing the jetties near 40th. I hear legendary stories about the wedge (I have vowed to never put my life at risk again) so I don't know that I will try it.

I said I wouldn't a few years ago at El Porto. I did and almost took the way of the morgue. That cane sent in some 20 foot faces.

I am getting in shape for it just incase I wake up and feel really stupid on a double-overhead day.

Pugs are VERY susceptible to heat due to their noses. Stick him in the tub every few hours to keep him cooled down.

I'm 25 minutes inland in San Diego and sweating my ass off for the past week. I would buy an AC for my room but I have large windows. Grr...

It is funny you say this but it is so true man. You actually forget that you are sweating after hours of it.

The worst is trying to fall asleep. I have fans pumping with windows open. It usually gets pretty cool around 2am.

Hot in Kansas too and it's 99* where I am at now. I picked the wrong Monday morning to mow and use weed-eater. I got a minor heat stroke even though I took water breaks.
