Kerry is a hypocrite....AND an idiot.

HEINZ?????

Made in Mexico

Shortly after reading the following e-mail content, I happened to look at the label of a jar of Heinz
sandwich slice pickles. Yep.... Made in Mexico"

Check some of your Heinz products.

"Sen. John Kerry keeps talking about U.S. corporations leaving this country and setting up shop in foreign countries, taking thousands of jobs with them. He is right, because that has happened. However, he is trying to blame it on George W Bush. As far as I know, Bush has not moved one factory out of this country because he is not the owner of a single factory. That cannot be said about Kerry and his wife, Teresa Heinz-Kerry. According to the Wall Street Journal, the Kerry's own 32 factories in Europe and 18 in Asia and the Pacific.

In addition, their company, the Heinz Company, leases (4) factories in Europe and (4) in Asia. Also, they own (27) factories in North America, some of which are in Mexico and the Caribbean. (80%) of Heinz products are made overseas. I wonder how many hundreds of American workers lost their jobs when these plants relocated in foreign countries. I also wonder if the workers in Mexico and Asia are paid the same wages and benefits as workers in the United States. Of course they're not. However, Kerry demands that other companies that relocate should pay the same benefits they did in the U.S. Why does he not demand this of the Heinz Company, since he is married to the owner? If Kerry is elected, will he and his wife close all those foreign factories and bring all those jobs back to America? Of course they won't. They're making millions off that cheap labor.

John Kerry runs Heinz? Even his wife isn't involved in the day to day operations of the company.

candyflip 08-02-2004 08:24 AM

Also...Bush and Co like to call Kerry a "Flip Flopper".

Guess who's the biggest "Flip Flopper" of them all? Yep...good 'ole GWB.

You really are desperate to find " dirt"....

FYI, there is a difference between a company that operates and sells in many countries ( such as Heinz, Kraft, Kellogg ...) and one that sells mostly in the US but outsources its work ( Dell, Citi Bank, ...)

Once you figure it out, read your post again.

BTW, my Heinz ketchup is Union made in Canada to be sold to Canadians, not to be reshipped to the US... Does that give you a clue ....

No, neither him nor his wife have anything to do in the daily affairs of Heinz.
However, when you live in a 28 bedrooms house that was fully paid with Heinz money (Dividends, stock options, salary to do nothing), you should make sure you check your facts before opening your mouth.
That is also valid for dubya :2 cents:

We have a free trade agreement involving Canada, the US and Mexico.

This is supposed to happen. Mexico sells the US pickles, you sell them fighter aircraft.

What should be opposed is the outsourcing of IT jobs to places like India.

Bush has gone on record as saying that this is a good thing.....

iFliPcEss 08-02-2004 08:32 AM

What ever it is I'd still go for Kerry, more ketchup to come

mardigras 08-02-2004 10:07 AM

So Teresa should have abolished all her interests in the company when she married him?

BTW, the Heinz-Kerry money came from her previous husband John Heinz, a Republican senator from Pennsylvania who was killed in an auto crash in 1991. Take all those stats that were quoted earlier and put the blame where they belong...:glugglug

retrograde 08-02-2004 10:16 AM

Ummm... This isn't accruate at all. Teresa Heinz does not own any factories, and she does NOT own the Heinz company, she only owns about 4% of its stock. This rumor is addressed here: http://www.snopes.com/politics/kerry/heinz.asp

Quote:

Although Senator Kerry has been critical of the Bush administration for rewarding "Benedict Arnold CEOs" who move "profits and jobs overseas," the above-quoted attempt to link Kerry (through his wife) with the very outsourcing he decries is flawed in two major ways. First off, Teresa Heinz Kerry does not "own the Heinz Corporation" ? she has no involvement whatsoever with the management or operations of the H.J. Heinz Company, nor does she own anything close to a controlling interest of the company's stock. According to Heinz itself, the Heinz family trust which Mrs. Kerry inherited sold most of its shares of Heinz stock back in 1995 and currently holds less than a 4% interest in the company:
...
(A 4% stake in a company as large as Heinz still represents a considerable amount of money, but it isn't nearly large enough a share to give the holder any significant control or influence over the company's business decisions.)

bdld 08-02-2004 10:20 AM

nobody's perfect. deal with it.

Giorgio_Xo 08-02-2004 10:25 AM

Kerry and wife have no say in the operations of Heinz Foods. She isn't even the majority shareholder so to blame her for Heinz policy is short sighted.

In other words any relations she would have had with day-to-day operations would have been when the Republican senator owned it.

I guess my point here was to show that everybody gets ALL worked up if you bring up any negative stuff about Kerry, but will happily post the most bizarre, wacked out stuff about Bush with out any reflection on how silly some of it is:2 cents:

idiots, white people will not pick fruit or vegetables for money,. it has not gotten that bad yet here.

mexicans still pick all the oranges in california and do so as illegal slave labor. wanna bitch about something bitch about the roots of it.

white kids are lazy so are black kids, in this country they wont pick no fucking tomatoes for 10 hours a day, are you kidding?

of course they get the mexicans to do it, untill you fuckers sep up and make your kids work a hard day.

till then, keep driving your SUVs and enjoy the $2 a gal gas and shut up unless you want to go pick tomotates, i know i wont go pick no fucking fruits...

Tom_PMs 08-02-2004 10:46 AM

You'll get it on both sides.
But some of the dirt on both of them is perfectly legit as well. It's easy enough to find your own opinion.
Some sources are real slanted. Like today on CNN, they covered Bush and another white house press briefing ABOUT bush. Yet they had a reporter at a Kerry rally, and you could hear Kerry in the background, yet they were doing a story on what howard dean said. Then the anchor asked "any spin coming from the kerry campaign on it"..

Now, I didnt see any one ask about "the spin" coming from Bush.

Thats what I mean by slanted, lol. You have to pick your battles and look between the lines. Many times it's the reporters themselves making the "news" or sound bite in just how they ask questions.

Example: "Isn't it another case of flip-flopping?" versus "Whats your stance on this issue?". Frankly, I just want the answer, not a defensive statement, so I resent leading questions on both sides.

Anyway, I'm hungry..

Yeah, newbies like Larry Flynt who spent time in jail under a conservative administration think that Democrats are better for the porn industry.

Porn prosecutions under Democrats are far lower than those under Republicans and that fact along with the great economy under Clinton is part of what built the online adult industry into a huge money maker.

Bush and his justice department and his favorite Supreme Court justices all want porn to be illegal and to put porn webmasters in jail.

You need to turn off Fox and start thinking for yourself, or at least look at history.

A Republican administration has never been good for the adult industry or for freedom of speech.
