What is an average CTR for banners?
 

I know it varies but can someone give me a ballpark figure?

mainstream, 0.4-1% is average, 2-3% is really good. that's general banners, not targeted. targeted ads do generally 2-20% if they are off to the side. if it's the focus of the page, it's going to better. if you're talking adult gallery, with links... probably 5-20% depending on gallery and traffic. adult site with banners on the sides... about 2%. free sites with link list traffic... 20-40%

There is no general figures . It always depends on how targeted the traffic is ... and how attractive the banner is .
