Domestic Violence: What do you do?
Got word a few weeks ago a woman I grew up with died mysteriously in a drowning. Cops ain't picked up the suspect but she did have like over 100 domestic violence calls that the cops didn't arrest her husband over for some reason yet to be explained.
I've run into this 'beating the wife/girlfriend' crap 20 years ago. I couldn't believe how dumb the laws were. If a woman got beaten by her husband/boyfriend and she pressed charges, all she got was a 'court order of protection'. Like a piece of paper is gonna stop a maniac? So we fought back then to get the laws changed. Both men and women victims now when reporting usually someone gets hauled away til the matter gets resolved. That still doesn't solve the problem though. Many women are too scared to report abuse. What do you do? |
I know a man who's pretty scared to report abuse too.

Put up or shut up you have to be blunt about it and report it yourself...
|
They should always report them !
|
KILL them on site.

I've seen women with a busted lip, black eye stand there and LIE that she got it when she fell chasing the cat, slipped in the tub, fell out of bed. Then months later she'd end up severly injured for life or even dead. It's stupid, yet victims often feel like they can 'save their antagonist' or 'they deserve to get beaten' etc. Not realizing they're placing their lives and their kids' lives in jeopardy. Not to mention retribution. Some guys are in gangs. If she has him arrested his 'posse' will retaliate. Things were sooooo bad that years back our newspaper had to build a complex just to house a safe house for battered women. It was booked to the brim! Now I come back full circle to see this shit going on again??? No way... this shit is gonna end now. |
