I think that I just got fucked over $1200 on Ebay
 

I think that I'll be getting fucked over on Ebay. I ended up buying 2 pair of Packer/Cowboy football tickets from the same person on Ebay for $1200. He said that he had to wait until the end of July to get the tickets, then he'd send them out. He was very prompt and had a feedback of 237, plus he was selling other tickets, so I figured that all would be ok, so I won 2 of his auctions.

Well, he emailed me to let me know that tickets would be getting sent out on Saturday and Monday through Priority Mail which is fine, my package should be in today. HOWEVER, today when I log in to check my email, I'm flooded with emails from like 8 people saying that they got their packages with their invoice and and an envelope that's EMPTY !!

The other people that got burned say that the seller says that he doesn't know anything about it, so it's not a simple mistake.

The auctions were a long time ago, so his Pay Pal account is more than likely emptied out, I used a debit card, so I wonder if I should call up my bank and see what they can do about it. I can always report them, but I wonder if I'm gonna get anything out of it.

Does anyone live in Huntsville, AL ?? I have his address and I'll pay you a bounty to go collect the money for me, he he he.

You got ripped. The ebay account was likely hijacked that is why he had such a great reputation. Sucks.

What you can do is file a complaint, then they will do a little investigation which will take sometime before any money is returned. It sucks getting fucked over but you should have used a credit card and then be able to do a charge back.

Wish I lived their! good luck that's alot of money to just fuck somebody out of!

I just got in my empty envelope. I knew it was coming, but now that it actually got here, I'm REALLY pissed off.

I feel for ya man, scammers love eBay. Aside from charging back thru PayPal (if you even can, I'm not sure) I don't know what else you could do... damn, that sucks.

Sorry to hear, I'm always leary when purchasing items with ebay but I still do sigh

Post a link to the auction...he might of pulled the old, "you're bidding on the tickets picture below" instead of "pictured" scam

I don't know if this applies, but it is true that tickets take awhile to arrive. I purchased 6 tickets to 49ers games this year from a local guy that has season tickets. They just barely arrive... last week actually.

You may be OK. See what happens.

don't touch that fucking envelope anymore...try to get some prints lifted.

Verify if there is a buyer protection logo arround ... if there is one, then you will most likely get a refound after doing a complaint

Paypal chargeback for ebay only works if you never receieve ANYTHING

the fact you receieved an envelope means you DID recieve SOMETHING and they wo0nt accept your chargeback

do a google search and see just how many peopel have been fucked over by this rule.

Ive even read of ppl who bought cars and receieved just a key

Ebay account hijackers KNOW abut this rule - thats why the send the envelopes - to cover their asses.

File a fraud report with ebay.
You'll get some of your money returned, it'll just take awhile.

If it was 2 seperate auctions, you may luck out and get paid some money for each one.

If it was a debit card transaction, they might be able to reverse the charge for you for the $40 or whatever they rape you for to do anything these days.

Not much you can do since it was off your debit card. banks are reall assholes when you try to get money back from them.

don't use ebay for bigb amounts like that
