Just watched Donnie Darko... damn good.

I've heard so many good things about this movie and it definitely lived up to my expectations. Entertaining, a little freaky, good plot (some holes in it) and a definitely a must for my DVD collection.

I'm sure there's more people out there that love this movie, am I right?

Whats your favorite part... I thought the "What's feces?" bit was great... that and the whole Smurf dialouge.

what im trying to figure out is... *semi-spoiler alert even though the movie is fucking 3 years old now*

if he goes back through the wormhole at the end... he falls asleep laughing in his bed the same night as the engine falls through his roof. does he not realize what day it is? does he fall asleep due to lack of sleep the night before?

jmk 08-05-2004 02:46 PM

indeed :thumbsup

No, he knows exactly what is going to happen.

so in other words as stated before in the movie "he wanted to be alone" or was he following the actual path set out for him before Frank saved him by getting out of the house that night?

Its really a figure it out for yourself kind of thing, there are a million theories, you decide on what you think happened.....Great fucking movie BTW:)

I believe that he was following his destiny. He lives a life which is beautiful, as he falls in love with his girlfriend.. but in a sadder note his parents discover how crazy he is.. he also uncovers the truth about the motivational speaker.

At the end he chooses to live his original destiny to die, maybe to save his girlfriend from getting killed? maybe something else? Who knows, but I love that movie

That movie is awesome. I have it on DVD. You should make sure to watch all the deleted scenes. Also, watch it with commentary. They elaborate on a few things that aren't so obvious from the storyline.

I will have to make sure I pick up a copy then. I have caught it on cable a few times and absolutely loved it. I can't hear the song "Mad World" without thinking of it.

great movie, I just watched it for the fist time last night on HBO.. I will admit I was turned off by the description "Teenage boy talks with a 6ft tall rabbit which saved his life" :1orglaugh

But I watched it anyway as I heard it was good, glad I did.. good movie.. special note don't buy a DVD just yet I hear their is a directors cut coming out soon.

gangbangjoe 08-05-2004 04:30 PM

steve, I think he knew exactly what was going to happen. If you watch the movie, look at how many lives, that were ruined because he didn't die in the beginning. So once he accepted what had to happen, everything was reversed.
