Just got done playing "Manhunt"

On Xbox.

The media really confuses me. because it's strange - I played it for hours, perfected the "viscous" and "gruesome" executions, snuck from the shadows to kill people, blew people's faces in half with shotguns, and after all that; I still can't quite convince myself to go out and do any of this stuff in real life.

Oh well.

You obiously didnt watch the national average of 4 hours of tv during your childhood.

How unpatriotic.

fr8 08-06-2004 01:02 AM

I think that game was so hyped up way to much. Got to the point that when I played it I was pissed after about 30 mins. Was expecting so much more.

It's a funny game.

Roald 08-06-2004 02:55 AM

isn't that game banned in the UK now? Due to some kid killing someone after playing this game?

It's just a case of bandwagon jumping

xclusive 08-06-2004 03:08 AM

If you are to let a game influence what you do you are a complete twink...

I'm gonna have to download ... er ... buy it now.

The XBOX version could have been better than the PS2 version had they added the XboxLive function that they originally considered based on gamer feedback/suggestions. That's supposedly why the xbox version came out 3-6 months after the PS2. Imagine one guy, you, being stalked by 15 other players. that would have sold many more copies, xbl subs, and been a much better game. I read that they thought the xbl function would encourage/corrupt more ppl, lead to more violence. I don't believe that because the whole company is based on controversy/violence and = more money. I believe they simply let the ball drop and got lazy. or MS said "No way, not the image we want for XBLive". LOL. At least there's still HALO 15vs1 on xboxconnect. madness.

heard it sucks though ;)

It's funny.

The mother of the boy who got killed went on the rampage trying to get the game banned from everywhere because the 'game' was the reason her son got killed.

However, although some shops here have stopped stocking it, sales have actually went through the roof everywhere else.

How can she blame the game for her sons death ?
Isn't it the asshole who murdered him who had the problem, without the game.

She said this was just the start of her campaign to get violient things banned which could influence people.

Is she gonna try and get all those violent movies banned also ??

Hmmmmm..........

thats what you've got parental control for.

And you are in porn? lol

hova 08-06-2004 03:49 AM

I liked the game, dont understand all the drama about it. Its so easy to blame somebodys fucked up state of mind to a game or a movie or whatever

Vitasoy 08-06-2004 03:50 AM

Sounds like a great game. Time to release my anger :thumbsup

TheMob 08-06-2004 03:56 AM

Put yourself in her shoes - loosing your child suddenly like that... she's gonna be looking for something/someone to blame... and she can probably be forgiven for not being totally rational about it at this moment in time.

It's a damn shame.

A lot of people would do the same I guess. If it happened to me of course I wouldn't consider the game the real killer but it is still something which you can focus all your anger and frustration on.
Thereby gaining a true outlet for all your emotions that would otherwise remain locked inside you.

CyberTraffic 08-06-2004 09:22 PM

I did'nt like the game either at first, thought it was repetitive and stupid.

But after sticking with it out of boredom, it gets A LOT better, A LOT harder & A LOT scarier as you go through it.

There is a certain mindset you have to get into to enjoy this game thoroughly, I will say that.

EviLGuY 08-06-2004 09:28 PM

I downloaded that one as well.. played it for about 20 mins and deleted it.

I'd rather play Spinter Cell if I wanna sneak around in the shadows.
