Not looking good. No wonder Microsoft just announced they are delaying the release of Service Pack 2 due to problems people are encountering after installing it.

When I look at details its the same name, so I'm not sure...but yesterday they finally stopped with the installation of another new update.

They are shooting for 2 out of 5, then they can say it's way less then half. :)

Yah, it's a beta that has been testing for a long time now, and should at least be past the point where it blue screens over half of the machines that install it.

Bugs like that should have been worked out in alpha, before the RC's were posted for the public

Is it one that says something about vunerabilities that would allow a hacker to take control of a system? If so I think that's their generic description of any exploit patch of that type.

I download the updates about once a month or so. I figure that MIGHT give them a chance to fix the problems first. :(

Good thread, with this being released soon, Its good to hear others experiences with the sp. I'll be waiting a few weeks before installing it myself, especially after reading that article.

Automatic Update disabled, i can wait for a couple of months more.

They're saying it really does a fuckup job on the registry.

ouch, do they ever do enough beta testing them selves?

works fine for me, and does a good job at security now.

A little annoying since I can't view a flash file locally.

What exactly happens to flash files??

An alert pops up under your explorer tool bar that tells you that basically opening that file on your local machine is a security risk and the file will not open. Pain in the ass and I hope they have an enable option for this in the final release.
