London is simply not suppose to be this hot

omg, time for the second cold bath of the day. I have a fan on full blast and I barely even feel it.

At this rate air conditioning will finally be standard in the next 5 years. The first unit to go for under £100 will do the trick. I am melting (best witch voice)

wdsguy 08-06-2004 10:56 AM

welcome to global warming

well, it doesn't (or hasn't in the past) been hot like this very often. So, for the average person investing in air conditoning for one or two weeks of the year is just too much of a spend. Growing up in the States we had it but for most of the years living here I laughed at people when they were complaining that 70 degrees was hot. This is more than 70 degrees..time for someone to sell lower cost units and cash in. The electric companies would love it too.

Dirty F 08-06-2004 11:03 AM

Yup, today here in Holland was so friggin hot.

montel 08-06-2004 11:03 AM

ok. so nw replace hetera with da air condition unit !!

I decided to get stuck in with the packing and dispatching side of my main business today... big mistake. Pulling, pushing, picking, wrapping, packing, etc. After 8 hours I looked and felt as if I had been out for a walk in heavy rain. People will be receiving their shit with little puddles of sweat in the bottom of the parcel.

After getting home about half an hour ago, I just had my second shower of the day. It's not normal.

I mean, us Europeans generally only wash once per week.

Sarah_Jayne 08-06-2004 11:41 AM

*drip*

Just out of the very cool bath and back in my sweat box of an office. Even my keyboard is hot.

xclusive 08-06-2004 11:44 AM

I lived in England for about a year and a half...I can't believe there's no A/C for that 2 weeks out of the years when there's actually sun! :winkwink:

Damn I couldn't live without AC.. during the day the heat doesn't bother me, but I can't go to sleep sweating.

I have central AC (old.. came with the house when I bought it) and I have a window AC in my computer room on the second floor. 3 computers in there.. it needs a little extra oomf. :1orglaugh

I live in the coldest state in Australia. Our Island is the closest major population centre to Antarctica and the base is here too. This is the last month of winter and it is currently 8 deg C (46 deg F) at 8 A.M. During the summer it gets up to 44 deg C (111 deg F). I am looking forward to summer. :)

Global warming is a terrible thing. Airconditioning is going to be the most profitable mainstream biz nowadays.

Actually global warming would turn England into an Iceland. Seriously.

Apache_A 08-07-2004 05:18 AM

We don't need A/C in the UK, we have regular rain to cool things down.

pussyluver 08-07-2004 05:27 AM

Funny, It is really cool in the Midwest US. Turned the AC off for the last three days.

I think the weather decided to come up North. Today in Scotland its a real nice day.

Gonna finish up my work and take the dog to the park :)

Jensen 08-07-2004 06:02 AM

it's 28 c here in bergen, norway today and damn thats hot.. problem up here is that the houses are really solid (for coping with wintertime) and nobody has A/C.. had to open all my windows, but with a road outside it's not easy to get any work done..

wyldblyss 08-07-2004 06:16 AM

I love the heat, but if the air conditioning broke down in the house I would be miserable.

Living For Today 08-07-2004 06:16 AM
