Wanna lose weight? Buy yourself a jump rope.

I am what is commonly known as a gym rat. I work out every day, for about 1 1/2 hours every day but I haven't been doing cardio. I decided to gain some definition so I am hitting lighter weights and decided to do some cario. Those fucking machines are boring as hell.

So I picked up a $2.50 jump rope at Walmart and been doing it for about 30 minutes for the past 3 days -- lost nearly 4 pounds and every time I do it feel freaking exhausted.

I thought I'd share this with fellow GFYers, especially those who need to drop some pounds.

Reciting any rhymes while jumping?

So should we expect to start seeing spammers pushing jump ropes now?

I'm sure it works, but jumping up and down when you are overwheight is not good for your back.

That would be good if you're already in decent shape and just need to drop a few pounds, but imagine trying to do that when just walking from the couch to the refrigerator nearly gives you a heart attack! :1orglaugh

Well in this situation, if you live in a two story house, put the fridge on the floor other than the one where your bedroom and living room are. At least you get a nice stair climb on your way for munchies.

Get a mountainbike, find some rough trails, ride several times a week. Works better than anything.

ok here is what I dont get

you train heavy and thats better for burning fat then anything, to get cut cardio wont do anything for you nothing nada.

Now if you wouldnt work out then yes cardio, running, jump rope etc. is great but heavy lifting is the best way to burn fat.

If you want to get cut you will need to use a diuretic to get rid of excess water, you can buy xpel its natrual and in 2 weeks you will see majot major change.

FreeHugeMovies 08-06-2004 02:30 PM

Try only waiting 30 - 40 seconds between each of your reps for an hour. I've been doing that and it's a killer. Your recovery time is cut drastically.

Or the ankles. Light jogging puts the pressure of up to 2 1/2 times your body weight on your ankles so i am sure jumping rope while overweight could be harmful to them!

Babagirls 08-06-2004 03:40 PM

i cant jump rope, i have 36-DD's, i'll knock myself out :helpme
