I could NOT buy a BURGER with $760!
I take a drive to the local Harvey's and order a couple of fries and a burger for my wife and myself. The total came to $12 and change. I hand the cashier a fifthy and she like "whoa" and calls the manger. The manager comes and sais "sorry we do not have change for that". Meanwhile, she has a stack of about 20 5 dollars bills IN HER HAND. I say to her, "I can take the change in fives", she replies with "I cant give you all my fives". I swear I wanted to bash those fucking whores in the face....I was so fuckinng mad! How the fuck can it be they dont have $38 to give me change?!?!
The moral of the story is I had 6, 100 dollars bills. 3, 50 dollar bills and a ten in my pocket and I could NOT get a fucking burger. I had to drive 3 miles away to the next Harvey's WTF..Im soo oo pissed! Ray |
here they dont accept 50 or 100 dollar bills due to counterfeits
|
I see signs about not taking $50s and $100s all over the place.....
However, my models are very happy to accept them..... |
How come don't you cary plastic?
|
Musta been close to their opening time, or they simply didnt have enough to give one customer all their small bills to make change.
I used to get pissed customers too because they wanted me to cash 50's or 100's right when my store opened and nobody was around to go to a bank (again) to get money to make change with.. |

Definitly sad ... Canadian bills for 50 and 100 $ are very easy to spot . It's almost impossible to make good fake ones ... They are REALLY fucking good

I'm sure my answer was the correct one here, lol. It's Saturday 9their bank may not be open to make change), you probably went in before they had good change (obviously, since they didnt even have 10s or 20's).
If it was me, and I was stuck with possibly giving you 7 5's, I'd have said sorry.. Happens ALL the time man :) |
Not to piss on your parade but when she said "I can take the change in fives", I believe her. Had she given you that, she would have been stuck with a 50 and not enough change for the next customer who'd pay with a 20 like most customers do. But I can understand that it sure is frustrating.
Was it smart of them to be unprepared like that? Absolutely not. That happened to me often enough that whenever I have 50's or 100's, I nicely ask them "can you break a 50" before they ring up my items. Works everytime, especially when I ask while making sad puppy eyes. |
Back when i used to work as a checkout clerk, i had situations like that all the time where i wouldn't have enough of certain coins or notes to make the right change. I just used to let the customer pay the next lowest round amount (5, 10, 20, 50, etc).
Still to this day, i wonder why i got fired. |
be happy you have a 50 some people out there dont have anything
|
US$ is shit money ... in Europe everyone loves to accept your EUR 100 bill
|
That's ridiculous. Obviously the manager was a moron.
|
If you've never managed money in a retail environment, then you simply do not understand. :)
But take the advice above; if you want to pay with a $50 or above and it's a weekend or morning or late evening, ask if they have change before you set yourself up to be pissed when they decline you, lol :) |
Moral - Do as my great grandfather always taught me. Keep a 20.00 stashed away in your wallent and always replenish it every time you use it.
