MediumPimpin drop those Pop-ups!

Geez I signed up and when I finally was ready to put the promos online a few weeks later, they suddenly have 2 consoles, one not being credited, the other one not being credited either and on top of it it is going to their stupid tgp. Like any sane affiliate is wanting to send their pay site traffic to a tgp?

And all this on a god damn REVSHARE program? What is the point of having consoles, let alone consoles as described above, in a REVSHARE program?

The part the puts me off the most is that on their board one their reps goes like this: "Oh yeah we were doing some test to see how the numbers are, not sure if we let the popups there..."

Some test right? How about you do these test with YOUR OWN traffic? Sound good?

Well you just lost an affiliate, one that could have sent you more than those asslicking noobs that are now going to post below me

As a revshare program you have NO BUSINESS popping consoles, let alone ones that I don't get credited for. Did you notice that ALL the big programs go the other direction, the right one, by offering console free, yet you do exactly the opposite, and then
brag on your forums "Oh yeah we were doing some tests...?". God know what other tests you are going to do next

Arghh this sucks

And no one tell me to discuss this with them in private. They just close tickets, simple as that.

Use a different sponsor.

WOAH was that hard?

Sly_RJ 08-07-2004 07:19 PM

I get pretty good retention from one of their sites. The consoles don't bother me any.

I WANT to promote them and they should consider this a insightful post and something to think about. Basically, act like a business. If I didn't care I'd just move on. It is sad that a revshare program, one that I considered to be up to date, reliable and established, with nice sites and galleries, feels the need to put random consoles there, even a tgp, I don't get it. A REVSHARE program.

right, but isn't it up to the program owners to decide whether or not they want popups? don't like it? drop 100k on content and start yer own popup free paysites. :2 cents:

What part do you not understand about revsahre and consoles. Are you saying that the consoles are "needed to cover the costs" or what is your point?

And thanks for being the first fool to bring on that hilarious "start your own pay site then" idiocy. What does that have to do with ANYTHING?

Ahhh, I'm sorry... I didn't realize there was a law book somewhere stating that it was illegal for rev-share programs to operate with consoles. Thanks for the clarification.

whats it have to do with anything? you're sitting here whining about a program you don't own. medium pimpin, nor ANY sponsor for that matter needs to mold their business to YOUR standards

if you don't like what they do you have 3 options.

1. shut up and send traffic anyway
2. shut up and push someone else
3. shut up and start yer own paysite

noone owes you anything. especially since you couldn't just email them like a normal person. instead you pop on GFY like a drama whore.

Theo 08-07-2004 07:56 PM

I don't see me ever sending traffic to revshare program that

- doesnt give credit for sales generated from popups
- >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> cross sales

http 08-07-2004 08:01 PM

How did laws got into this? Did I say it is illegal or something to that effect?

I am talking about good business practise, common sense.
About the adult internet 2004. Look around what successful programs are doing. I surfed through a lot of programs and to my surprise it is mostly the smaller to mid size programs that are trying to sneak in a popup here and a dialer there, and a non-credited payment option there.

The only reason revshare programs are having consoles is because many webmasters are ignorant and the programs are getting away with it - for now. There is no justification for a revshare program to have consoles. Cannot "afford" the site operation otherwise? Then lower the %. That is a fair and transparent practise. Adding consoles on and off just dillutes the resusults for everyone.

To a revshare prorgam, I am sending a surfer and the program gets a chance to sell a membership. Only if the surfer signs up I get credit. I do not get anything if he does not signup. I then get MY surfer BACK. If the surfers doesn't like the site, although I already pre-sold him, then the revshare program is not entitled to "offer" him other things that I do not get credit for.

Yes, in my opinion. Not by law.

If I would have a program I think I would love to get feedbacks ... but not publicly like this

http 08-07-2004 08:21 PM

Not publically? The consoles are hardly a private, secret issue between me and them

They are popped there for everyone to see, that is the purpose I guess

And don't act as if questioning consoles on a revshare program was unethical

And since they seem to be unsure about their consoles ("running some tests...") they may just take the opportunity, and drop them

Unless they rather prove a point. For whatever

http 08-07-2004 08:22 PM

Anyway, flame away, sheep, I am off to bed
