WTF! CCBill Scrubbing ?

I'm getting pretty sick of this shit. I don't know if this is ccbill scrubbing, or my sponsor shaving or just extremely bad luck .. but it really bums me out.

At the end of July I took a look at all my sponsors and did a huge drill-down to decide what sponsors to push in August. I found that one of my older sponsors that I hadn't pushed in months was doing very well .. with a sign-up ratio of like 1:450 or so... so they became a big player in my august strategy.

For the first half of the month it really paid off. Check the stats:

August 1st to August 9th

Clicks: 2,893
Sales: 6
Ratio: 1:482
Earnings: $139.79

Now this is almost fucking surreal!

August 10th to August 19th

Clicks: 4,735
Sales: 2
Ratio: 1:2367
Earnings: 27.44

Just a big WTF!!!! to vent... anyone else have unbelievable ccbill stats for the last week or so ?

Brujah 08-19-2004 07:17 AM

Dump those sponsors and try some that retain better maybe ?

4k clicks is extremely low to draw any conclusions
unless the traffic quality is EXTREMELY high

what's your traffic source?

Galleries .. and I agree with you that it's low to draw conclusions .. I'm not drawing any conclusions just being suspicious.

It's just that the first half is in line with my stats for july .. and the second half is ridiculously bad even for my long-term stats with this sponsor.

From November 1st 2003 to July 31 2004 the ratio is 1:859 - 34,372 clicks, 30 sign-ups. That's 100% gallery/tgp traffic.

Not enough traffic to be statistically significant. I have some converting at 1:10000 and some at 1:200. Problem for me is getting that 1:200 traffic up.

When you consider traffic and conversions, there is a lot to ponder. The only answer is more and better traffic.

August 1st to August 9th

$ per sale = $23

August 10th to August 19th

$ per sale = $13.5

Not sure which parameter changed here regarding $/sale, if you had let's say $92 for this period would you complain? In reality that would be only 2 more sales at $23 like past month. The processor could scrub more the last period and still have double the sales compared to last. You wouldn't be able to tell due to small amount of clicks/sales. I asked you about FHG because most of them suck at getting good ratios. Also, if you used different templates for you galleries is another factor you may consider if the drop of sales keeps going on.

This month with CCBILL 1:1684 with about 12,000 clicks...I try not to send them much traffic.

Thanks for doing this for me.. it pointed out an error in my stats that I wouldn't have noticed otherwise.

I had a rebill that for $14.97 that I got mixed in with the earnings. Taking out the rebill the earnings are $124.82 which brings the cash per sign-up to $20.

I also just got a sign-up since posting this thread. Bringing the ratio for 10th to 19th down to 1:1588, the earnings to $47.41 and the cash per sign-up to $16.

The reason for the difference in cps is they've got 2 sites that pay differently. I've only really been pushing one but I still get sign-ups from old galleries to the other.

It seems normal to me... Some days are just slow... :(

Sosa 08-19-2004 08:10 AM

you will go through really bad days every once in a whille with ccbill, then the next day you will have a couple kickass days and then it is right back to the shitty days in a row. Happens all the time

rowan 08-19-2004 08:13 AM

I've had some really shitty days with ccbill in the past week. One day was something like 0:3500, and since I also had a chargeback the total earnings for that day were negative. Normally I convert better than 1:1000 (hosted gals only) but the past 7 days has been averaging worse than 1:2200.

svenski 08-19-2004 08:29 AM

Sales have been shit with ccbill for me this week .

How much is summer slowdown and how much is ccbill is another matter.

There is no summer slowdown

Doctor Dre 08-19-2004 09:03 AM

With the ammount of sales you got... you cannot really judge . It's random most of the time .

sometimes I do 0:2000 and a week later I'l get 6 signups out of 200 hits ...

Same for me. I just try to ride out the bad days, usually two bad days in a row, sometimes three. Its been slow for me over the last week though which gets me really pissed. I did notice that ccbill had a maintainance planned for last night so I'm hoping they addressed whatever issues might exsist. Overall ccbill is still the best imho.
