Would you be surprised if USA mens basketball won gold?

not really. even though they havent been great so far they still have good players and a good shot at the gold.

They have two huge games coming up in the next two days. I don't see them pulling it off. Lithuania should win it all.

They are showing the best european basketball.
NBA players can play only 1on1 or 2on2... they dont know how to attack on zone deffence at all.

basketball is a perfect teamwork game...

Shaq would have helped, of course, because he's a monster. But there's nothing Kobe could do against this zone defense. He's not a great outside shooter, and there's no way he could penetrate beyond 10-12 feet against good teams.

The US won against Spain because of the 31 pts from Marbury. I doubt that he can do that again in the next 2 games.
Kobe and Shaq wouldn't help much at all. Kobe would hog the ball all game long and only make 38% of his shots (like the NBA final), and Shaq would be pissed off at Kobe for not passing the ball.
