Hacking Porn Sites

Would any of you pay a hacker to look for holes in your server and report to you what those are. Or go through forums telling you what accounts are compromised to your site

Dagwolf 08-29-2004 08:23 PM

There is no money in porn.

Doctor Dre 08-29-2004 08:26 PM

I doubt a lot of small webmasters got enough $ to do this . The web hosters might be interested thought ...

or script writers

SmokeyTheBear 08-29-2004 09:25 PM

Best idea is to find the holes first, be polite , dont harm anything . leave a small message for sysadmin to contact you for a list of exploitable features.

You may not get alot of money this way, but you will make alot of favours and they are better than money.:2 cents:

smokey just has a different understanding of what a "small message" for the system admin should be... :1orglaugh

Floridiot 08-29-2004 10:28 PM

dont make enough to pay

andi_germany 08-29-2004 10:29 PM

I have gotten some of those small messages in the last 8 years I run paysites.
Most of those people asked for a free membership and I gladly gave it to them as they would have been able to get it anyway.

That reminds me of those scripting holes those billing scripts had back in the days.

That also reminds me that I can get access to most paysites as I have a collection of about 100000 username/password combos and people always use the same username/password all the time.

You could sell that list for good $$.

BSleazy 08-29-2004 10:44 PM

Theres IRC chatrooms where u can pretty much just type a url to a paysite and there scripts will brute force a l/p if I remember correctly.

canesfan 08-30-2004 01:39 PM

Damn but i mean i should i contact the huge sites i mean i have some pretty good exploits. I have a few that I can contact. Don't want to name names. No need to show other hackers where there are know problems

canesfan 08-30-2004 01:43 PM

Or the bigger issue am i going to get prosecuted for telling them. Or do i just have to do it in the right way without sounding like im extorting money.

A bigger obstacle would be finding buyers

canesfan 08-30-2004 01:45 PM

You're really walking on a very thin line here.

A guy from israel tried to pull some shit on sponsor programs and boards and he's not around anymore. Think about what you do and what you say. This is not kindergarden and you can very well end up with a lot of problems and you don't want that.

canesfan 08-30-2004 01:49 PM

true i see where you are going

Fabuleux 08-30-2004 01:55 PM

Interesting service, but I would rather ask a company with a good reputation to check for security holes instead of asking someone on GFY with 5 posts...

We are getting ready to roll out a service that will look for holes in your network and make sure its compliant to whatever security spec your administrator subscribes to... ISO 17799 / BS 7799 / HIPAA / CSI-FBI / NPG 2810 / your custom security specs, or whatever you want to protect yourself from.

I'll be buying sigs next month! :thumbsup

afrocreep 08-30-2004 06:38 PM

I hear the FBI and Homeland Security love hackers

don't think you can't be tracked down

even IRC's that are not public, they will set there and watch you, if they want you they will come and get you, believe me.

thats how they hired the head security guy at my old company, and it was a fortune 500 co. as well, would have figured they'd have up to date security etc.

mookienow 08-30-2004 08:24 PM

Yeah I would say If your not a Dick after you break in there wouldbe a problem. after all all you are doing is pointing out a network security issue, Free freelanceing so to speak.. as long as your not demanding cash..etc.

Moral of this post: DONT BE A DICK
