A Formula for Soft-Boiling Eggs

The Derivation

To obtain a simple formula the problem must be idealised somewhat, so the egg will be treated as a spherical homogeneous object of mass M and initial temperature Tegg. If the egg is placed straight into a pan of boiling water at Twater, it will be ready when the temperature of the yolk Tyolk, at a point midway between the shell and the centre of the egg, has risen to ~63°C. With these assumptions, the cooking time t can be deduced by solving a heat diffusion equation.

The Result

The full derivation is quite complicated but the final result is relatively simple.

The constant of proportionality c depends on the specific heat capacity and thermal conductivity of 'egg'. According to this formula, a medium egg (M~50 g) that takes four and a half minutes to cook when it has come from the fridge Tegg=4°C, would have taken a few seconds less than four minutes to cook if it had been stored at room temperature Tegg=21°C. If all the eggs are stored in the 'fridge, then a small (size 6, 47 g) egg, will require about 4 minute 15 seconds to cook, and a large egg (size 2, 67 g) will take almost five and a half minutes.

BTW, are prizes/pounts starting up again? I bet you'll see a ton of players - which may not be a good thing for some.

we are starting real money tables and tournaments in about 1 week from now. we will be going after porn surfers and regular poker players who play online. that's when you will see Adult Poker Tour 2.0 start to take off

I'll try to play tonight..I need to get into practice if I'm going to win next years World Series Of Poker Main Event.

I'm thinking we can do some satilites tourneys and give people a chance to get to the wsop with a $100 buy-in.

1 table tourney, winners get's into the 2nd round.

we do this 10 times, the 10 winners, then compete and the winner of that gets the WSOP seat paid in full to them

yeah it would be like in mid or the end of October. can do maybe 2 a week. for 5 weeks. I don't think it would be hard to get 20 players to buy-in $100

a diferent password(different than the other two you chose)

a different email address(diff. from the other two)


sometimespeople sign up 2 accounts and when they match one of the 3 things i mentioned it's bans that user name instant. it's to prevent cheating

Never recieve a confirmation e-mail.
Go to sign in on the Log on screen.

Enter my username : OneSix
and my password as affiliates.iwantu.com but nothing happens.

Does setup for real have anything to do with this?

Tried Setup for Real keep getting invalid info even with all the fields filled out.

Anyway you can reg me on your end? I wanna whoop some ass.

when you double click the APT icon, and it starts up, look at the very top of the lobby where it says, "my account" then go to verify email address. if that's not the problem, then I have to get my tech master to look at it. i won't talk to him till tomorrow.



for privacy issues and no interests of conflict, I cannot sign up players.

Tried that....thanks but I think there might be some issues with new regs.

also, do you have choice poker software still on your computer? if so, you got to remove it and clear your cache out for APT to work.
