Just talked to my friend in Poland who's also doing masters in next weeks and he told me he's hoping for a job in the military and in the beginning he will already get some nice cash, namely 1200zl ~ $340 per month. And it's a good start for him.

He doesnt like the military ( he's always been a kinda anarchist ) but there's huge unemployment in Poland and his father knows some people there so he has good chances to get accepted and this would be a very safe job. So he hopes he will stay there in the Army.

His world is so different from the world here on GFY, heh. :glugglug

Yeah, i'd say that's closer to the average income nowadays, but as you can see some people are satisfied with less. ;-)

$340 isn't a lot of money but its better then nothing and atleast he has a job..........

During the 3 years of regular (compulsory) army service in Israel, soldiers make around 400 NIS per month (less then $100)

National service in the Polish army is only worth about 200 zl (And all the potatoes and cabbage you can eat).

But the service is mandetory. This guy is looking for a job.
You don't look for a job in the Israeli army, you just serve when you 18 years of age. No questions ask.

I know, I just mentioned that..

people who sign to stay longer in the army usually get very nice salaries

They won't agree to earn less when they are already getting more, hehe :Graucho
