I can't figure out one good dogdamned reason why anyone would want to live in that hot assed, mosquito infested, lizards, alligators, refugees, muggy, rednecks, gun crazy cops, shaped like an uncircumsized dick, state.

Not to mention the fucking repeat hurricanes and a scary fucking hurricane due in a week!

There are rednecks everywhere- in all parts of the world. It's all a matter of mentality not image. Weather can suck at times. But there aren't hurricanes every year-just every 5-8 years some serious 'canes hit. Hot, yes. So it California, North Carolina, and many other states. The chicks are hot. I don't know about the crack whores you've encountered. Maybe you should visit other cities in FL that aren't as lame as the ones you have visited. Some times it is easy to confuse locals with tourists. Don't hate.

Low cost of living, the beach, great weather, not as over-populated as California, etc. If anything, it's a nice place to spend the winter.

No state income tax was nice, of course some NICE homes (prices too) and roads (quality plus speed limits) but it just wasn't enough to keep us there.

You must have lived in the boon docks cuss where I live the easterly breeze keeps the misquitos in land and the weather is great. Sun & fun in my neck of the woods.... Southern California is terrible. We are way due for an earthquake and you will get eaten by a shark if you even go near the ocean. The smog makes you dizzy. The women are airbrushed by the time they hit your newstands and movie theatres, far from reality.
