What does it take to be famous?

There are thousands of gorgeous looking models out there but what does it really take to make them famous? To make them different from the others even if they look the same. Its obvious promoting the gal properly is one thing but what else? Any takers??

Fake Nick 10-06-2004 10:24 AM

the most important factor is luck closely followed by connections

Pure talent and the right agent would make you famous as well.

KRL 10-06-2004 10:34 AM

The easiest and fastest way is for a model to marry a celeb. I.E. like she did today to Tiger.

Be connected to people who are on top. Everything in the world is about connections. A pretty girl will only make it to the top after a person with connections wishes to bring them on the inside.

You got it all wrong... Be on top of well connected and famous people. Make a video out of it and sell it over the Internet.

Guaranteed Fame afterwards. And good money as well :1orglaugh

She probably doesnt love him in the slightest bit. Sad, but true. I wouldnt marry someone just to be recognized, screw that, when I get married its gonna be because of sheer love for who Im with not just to use em and ditch.

natkejs 10-06-2004 10:47 AM

Talent and hard work makes you famous.

Why sacrifice your ability to walk down any street, go out to eat and life your life privately just for adoration of people that have an image of you and not know the real deal?

I like being me.

I would say TV it's still the largest medium for information in the world.

Once your on a major tv show you are close or in the celeb game.

cashman 10-06-2004 11:26 AM

I really hate statements like this.

I have no idea if they love each other, and neither does anyone but the two of them.

What's really sad is that in today's society we assume that people have an ulterior motive in virtually everything they do.

It's possible that these two will get divorced in 6 months. It's also possible that they'll grow old together.

The fact that he's rich and famous is only gonna work against them. I'm not gonna assume whether they last or not that she was just in it for the money. She could easily be in love now and grow tired of their relationship.

It happens everyday and not just to the rich and famous. How many people do you know that have been divorced? Did they love each other once?

Shit happens to everyone.

P.S. Why do you say that YOU would NEVER marry for money, but automatically assume she's gonna marry him and ditch him? Are you stating, without even knowing her, that you're a better person than she is?

Good point.. But what if a model likes modelling? Or what if a singer loves to sing? Theyre still gonna be themselves, with a lot less privacy because theyre famous. I like being me too, and if I was ever famous for something, Id still be me :)

Being a former touring musician - Yes, nothing beats playing on stage in the world. Its the greatest rush of all,however...

The abilty to just blend in is even better than any fame in my opinion.

Why do I say that I would never marry for money?? Because I know I wouldnt. And Im not automatically assuming that she would, Im simply going by what Ive seen happen continually over and over again. You tend to assume something when you see it happen all the time. When it comes to money, marriage and fame (majority of marriages anyway) end up in divorce.

I know this one actor on NYPD, never wanted to be an actor but was tired of being a bartender. So he had two auditions, went to one and read the wrong script, he felt so stupid. He kicked the chair off the stage, told everyone off at the audition, cussed everyone out, and yelled I didn't want to be here any ways.

They called him back and he was on of the main actors in NYPD.

Dude, come'on. Take away the fact that she's a model and he's a wealthy golfer, put them in a crowd in a party (even get them together in a conversation), you think they'll "hit it off"? Bullshit. He's a fucking dork, with a personality of a melon. There is no way his wealth and her good looks aren't the basis for this marriage. :2 cents:

Almost nobody marries for sheer love. Many of us marry for recognition/status, money etc. The majority of us marry because we don't want to be alone and we become contented with who/what we're married to (because most of us want the hot models but can't get them). That's for guys and girls.

Again, this doesn't cover everybody, but that pretty much sums up almost everybody.

Tala 10-06-2004 12:32 PM

Is fame really worth it? I'd rather be well-known and respected by a few than unknown but adored by many. I like my anonymity just as I like the money to be made doing what I love.

I think everyone dreams of being famous, but when it comes down to it, I don't think everyone could handle it. I wouldn't wonder but if that's the reason so many celebrities turn to drugs and alcohol. :(

DavidVH 10-06-2004 12:34 PM

Me personally wouldnt marry for recognition or status etc... But everyone has their own opinion I guess. I really wouldnt say "Almost nobody marries for sheer love" . I dont agree with at all.

Agreed.

Drake 10-06-2004 12:41 PM

As far as fame goes, lots of luck, connections, and most often a little bit of talent. I say 'little bit of talent' because talent is relative. There are people who have made remarkable medical break-thrus and I would say some of them are truly talented but nobody knows there name, while the Paris Hilton's of the world get much more adoration, but are clearly less talented.

Good point. Its always the people with the least talent that end up with most recognition.
