Hollyshit!!! Canadian Inventor creates new type of Armour

Troy Hurtubise a inventor from North Bay, Ontario has created some impressive new armour he hopes can protect troops over seas. You may have seen one of Troy's other inventions the Armoured suit to keep a person safe from a bear attack. Another and IMO more impressive invention of his was firepaste.

Now we has created a new type of Armour.Heres a video of some of his armour in action.

http://www.exn.ca/video/?video=exn20...firepaste3.asx

You also get a small view of hie bear suit and the firepaste stuff in the video. Firepaste is a part of his armour and a amazing substance in its own right.

Do you think his armour could help better protect soldiers from bombs?

Amazing video!!!!!!!

Wiggles 10-27-2004 11:24 AM

that firepaste is pretty cool, he looks like a right redneck though.

jacked 10-27-2004 11:31 AM

he's got himself a great idea on his hands i wonder if they will ever use something like that in a war zone

Zerof8 10-27-2004 11:31 AM

I think its a good step towards what needs to happen. They could possibly make those for the insides of the car doors and body of the car but they are going to have to come up with something for the windows because you cant have them all covered up with bags.

TheMob 10-27-2004 11:32 AM

i think he should've invented peace paste instead

yeah, did you notice his haircut? Inventors seem to have a look about them that makes you think they belong under intense supervision.

Rob 10-27-2004 11:36 AM

They can sell those at football games to sit on! :thumbsup

Marcus Aurelius 10-27-2004 11:39 AM

Your right, he's the same guy that made a super suit for a black belt so he can fight a grizzly bear :1orglaugh

Grizzly bears have the power to open up steel cans with their paws but the suit was strong enough to hold up. These bullet proof packs are only $300 per square foot. A life of a solider is priceless.

Here's video of the paste, the first video is bullet proof packs

I think he plans to sell it directly to the army, I think he should have the US armed forces take a look. I am sure they will make big investments once they see what those packs can take. They can handle rocket propelled grenades.

pornguy 10-27-2004 02:12 PM

I think that he made a massive mistake by going public with that before he got a patent on it.

But that is kick ass stuff.

buddyjuf 10-27-2004 02:16 PM

Hmm, only he knows the special unknown elements in his armour :Graucho

crockett 10-27-2004 02:32 PM

I've dealt with paste something like what he has but instead it was a paint. So I'm not so sure if he was the inventor of that. But this paint you could paint a news paper let it dry and take a blow torch and try to burn the paper and it wouldn't burn.

You could also soak clothes in it let them dry and they were completely fire proof. In the demonstration I saw they use normal cotton gloves that were treated with this stuff. They then put the gloves on and put a burning road flare in the guys hand. It never even phased him.. The only draw back was it was diluted by water. So if what ever you treated got wet, it was no longer fire proof.

Chichio 10-27-2004 02:37 PM

very nice, more armor is always a good idea as long as it's light

Gynecologist 10-27-2004 02:39 PM

wow, that is amazing

loverboy 10-27-2004 02:43 PM

pity, his ideas is life saving and no one is stepping up to make it into production and as an immediate battle suit for your dyting soldiers in battle

Triple 6 10-27-2004 02:56 PM

If someone like the US army buys his tech they can put more R&D to make it less bulky and lighter. This guy make those packs in his basement with his one hands. If they were made with machine I am sure they can be much thinner.

Not to mention one of those packs can take several shot from a riffle or two blast from grenades. If they can build the material into light armored vehicles like jeeps and hummers it would be great.

Bigjohn 10-27-2004 03:34 PM

Wow, I don't know if I'm more amazed with the inventions or with the inventor and the fact that he apparently created these without having a clue as to why they work.

Bigwilly 10-27-2004 03:53 PM

that guys crazy, was he expectin people to wear that suit in the woods incase a bear attacks him?

He was never able to get a bear to attack him while he was in the suit, at least he didn't during the filming of that documentary.

The suit worked well but it was too heavy to walk in it over rough terrain.

Project-Shadow 10-27-2004 04:36 PM

Oh hell fucking yes, the guy isn't the smartest person around, but he has created something that prevents the impact of a rocket propelled grenade.. if I had anything to do with the military I'd be sold. :ak47: :thumbsup

Just Rob 10-27-2004 04:45 PM

that shits bad ass!

EscortBiz 10-27-2004 04:48 PM

He is now working on a product called Shavepaste, it prevents webmasters from getting shaved even by those popular cascading programs that hide it real well

Vitasoy 10-27-2004 04:53 PM

Damn very impressive indeed. I remember the bear suit a while ago as welll :D

jawanda 10-27-2004 04:56 PM

No I think he made it for a black belt that gave him 200K to make a super suit so he can fight a grizzly bear without getting killed. The black belt was a hardcore martial arts guy and wanted to increase his skills without getting killed.

reynold 10-27-2004 06:02 PM

that invention is great...but the problem is if it will reach the warzones...and the politics.

Doctor Dre 10-27-2004 09:51 PM

Very sexy . I'm impressed

flashfire 10-27-2004 09:52 PM

very cool
