Do your "friends" resent you because you make money from porn?
 

I have started to notice something when it comes to doing porn from home. Your so called "friends" start to resent the fact that you're able to make a living working from home.

Most people's dream is to become rich (which I'm not), but even MORE people dream to not have to "work". So since everybody around my city knows that I don't work, I'm starting to hear things said about me on the street.

When I had that 18 year old girl with me, she was telling me about how people were telling her that she lived with a "pornstar" and how she was in a bad situation.

One of my closest female friends, who has constantly complained about the overtime she has to work and her kids complaining about her absence, recently showed her true colors when we had an argument. The argument was about money and part of her argument was that I have checks sitting around that I don't even bother to cash and that karma would fuck me over for doing this "internet shit"....Believe me, checks don't last longer than a week in my household without getting cashed but she resents the fact that I may get sponsor checks that I'm not expecting and going to buy weed for both of us to smoke...Even though she benefits if I may get a stray check, and even though she's smoking on a blunt paid for by a sponsor, she STILL always resented me for it.

I live in an area where people would jump for joy to make 10 an hour and where you can get bitches to drool over you if you tell them that you have a job at the Post Office, so it's almost like living in a third world country. Only the old folks and hustlers make money around here. The "professional" people have moved away.

It's gotten to the point where I can't even hang around the same people that I may use for content. The girls are constantly asking me how they can get a come up on the internet porn shit when they just don't realize that they're nothing but content. People just straight walk up to me and expect me to help them get paid online. I'm sick of it!

It's to the point where I'm spending most of my time alone because I don't even know any bitches worthwhile that even have a fucking car to come over and see me!

Do any of you feel resentment from the people around you for what you do? This shit is ridiculous....I could only imagine what would happen if everybody around here knew that I hit the lottery or something.

I tell all my friends that I'm more than happy to show them the basics.

After an hour or so of my sitting with them and showing them...they're over it.

Out of the bunch that I have shown, only 2 have made any money and only one is still consistantly.

most of my friends think its really cool

never experienced anything that. though i definitely get some people expecting you to pick up the bill when you're out, pick up the taxi, etc. just sort of assume you'll pay for certain things. no real jealousy though.

Why? Friends accept you how you are, but will tell you exactly what they think of you. All my friends are secure & confident with themselves sexually. They are my biggest fans & cheer me on. To them, I'm a demigod that they used to skate with - that fucks hot chicks half his age for a living. Anyone worthy of the title of "Friend" wouldn't see it any other way. I give them the exact same respect.

I do pretty well on my mainstream businesses, with porn being a very nice supplement but not my main source of income by a long shot.

A while back a couple neighbors found out I did porn. They turned out to be total dumb assholes and we are no longer friends because of that.

But - I think a huge part of their resentment is that they assume that just about all the money I ever made was due to porn, and yeah, because like most dumb fucks they think it is easy money, their was a huge resentment.

My real friends, of course, don't give a flying fuck if I work for a living or rob banks.

It is the money, not the porn. I have lost a few friends because I made so much more money and refused to pay for thier problems.

Alot of my friends don't like that I won't show them how I make money. They'll ask and I respond that I don't talk about my business. If they can't respect that then they're not really my friends are they?

Resentment and jealousy isn't really an issue with my friends because they all "somewhat" benefit from my success. I've paid for friends to go to shows with me, I have a lot of technology in my house that they would have never been able to afford and use, etc. The one thing I do see happening though is they don't really think I work. They know I spend all day in front of a computer but I don't think they realize that I do have daily responsibilities that must be attended. I also think that they assume I have more "cash" than I really do. I don't keep cash, I have no use for it, most of my income is reinvested so that 3 months down the line I receive bigger checks. They don't quite understand sacrifice like I do and sometimes thats very strange for me to grasp.

Example: I have a friend who's been having major teeth problems for over a year. He always complained that he couldn't afford to get them fixed. So I told him all of his options, the main one being dentist financing. He is just NOW getting his teeth fixed. Over the past year he has bought 3-4 comic books a week, goes to a local show once every 2 weeks, buys new CDs or DVDs weekly, goes to a movie weekly, eats out or orders in once or twice a week. You can afford all of that but can't afford to fix your teeth? Bull shit.

I have 2 friends like this that always complain about being broke but are constantly buying "stuff". I just don't understand the mentality of it all.

I wouldn't call them friends. I know some people are envious of the fact but pissed? No. And like I said, if they are then more than likely they are not someone I give a shit about anyway!

Actually I was thinking just the reverse. I grew up in a working class neighborhood and had tons of loyal friends.

Since then, I have lived in progressively nicer places, what most people would call "sucess" I guess. My neighbors have been doctors, lawyers, tv reporters.

Almost 100% of them were assholes. I would like to move my family to the ghetto to see if we can meet a better class of people..:1orglaugh

no this "friend" wasn't content but i've used one of her friends for content before. Plus everybody around here knows everybody else so that makes it harder.

Plus this girl had a job and a car and took care of her kids so on the outside it didn't look like she was a hoodrat but I started to notice her addiction to cocaine and that causes her to have no more than $20 in her pocket on any particular day. I'm not all in her business so I didn't really notice until recently....Plus it seems like the cocaine has wired her brain differently and sometimes she just makes absolutely no fucking sense.

the heifer makes MAYBE 300 a week after taxes. She had a perfectly good car outside and all it needed was brakes. But this girl doesn't bother fixing her brakes. She goes out and buys a NEW van and she'll be paying 400 a month for it. I told her that she can't really afford to pay 400 a month with her income but her reasoning is that since they take the payments out of her paycheck every two weeks, that "she'll never miss it". So instead of saying that she'll consider what I said about her finances, she said that I'm "Hating" on her because she's getting a new fucking car!

This is the same bitch that has to give 400 out of her check EVERY PAYDAY to the cash advance people because she's gotten in that trap where she has to keep borrowing the money over and over again and paying the fee. She can't stop borrowing it because she can't afford to live off of what she would have left.

She's dumb I tell ya. I'm glad she's gone.

All my true friends are the same ones I've had since High School. They just think what I do is cool but are not resentfull or anything.

I guess it also helps that I grew up in an upper class neighborhood and my friends parents are all VERY loaded.

I like to surround myself with people MORE successfull than me. It drives me to work harder and succeed more.

I think the opposite holds true too....live in the ghetto and hang around poor hood rats and you're more likely to get comfortable and not succeed as much as you could elsewhere.

I things I have noticeed had to deal with working from home in general (I used to work for a .com remotely and I have a home based business).

People don't consider it a "real" job. Some think that I am naive and being scammed and won't get paid. Others think what I am doing might be illegal (that was with a mainstream .com) and one even thought that I must be dealing drugs on the Internet.

Most of these people have no concept of the Internet so I basically just laugh. If people have a problem with me...then that is their problem. My goal is to keep a roof over my families head and food in their mouth. As long as what I do is legal then it is no ones business but my own.
