tattoo removal

okay since we were on the topic of tattoos, I need to have one of mine removed, something dumb I got when I was 18. Has anybody ever had one removed by laser, did it all come off, was there a scar and what is the pain factor? Please let me know

pain iz like scraping your skin w/ scissors till it bleeds.
if u only got dark ink, it will come off.

VIPimp 11-04-2004 04:33 PM

i've had two laser treatments on one of mine, I found a good deal in Vancouver. Uh, i'd recommend heavy sedation b4 u go in, tha shit fuckin hurts like an SOB. It'll get all gross, pussing and then scarring over.

After 2 treatments some areas of the tattoo are totally gone, some is 50% gone.

BradM 11-04-2004 04:36 PM

I would leave it. Unless it says something about an exbf... or something like that.

Removal causes scaring sometimes.

ElvisManson 11-04-2004 04:36 PM

get something better tatto'd over it. Lazer removal is VERY painful, leaves massive scarring and is expensive.

:2 cents:

it's like little elastic bands snapping you.

LOL I get it done once a month and to me that's what it feels like - the smell of burning flesh is not something I enjoy but you gotta do what you gotta do. Mind you, this is for hair removal via laser, maybe it's a bit more extreme for tattoo removal?!

I've been thinking about it to lighted one on my arm so i can cover it with something nicer ..... the guy that does work on me said there is a new procedure that he is having done that still hurts but leaves no scar .... it uses a laser to break up the ink and your body absorbs it .... if i get more info i'll post it .... I'm in NY and he said it cost about $300 for the consultation and $700 per visit ....I'll need about two to get the black on the tatt gray so i can cover it easily.. ...

It usually takes several sessions and some colors cannot be removed. I have to agree with Elvis, get it covered.

oh yeah you're in vancouver too. it's on #3rd in richmond, i can't remember the name right now, but i'll look for his card. he charges $100 a session, which is really cheap. and it works fine so far. he's not the most sympathetic doctor though...

oh yeah, i remember. it's Reviva Medical & laser clinic

u've got no choice but 2 go thru the pain. but believe me, after a while the pain doesn't really phase u. also, local anasthesea is used. so u barely feel anything.
just go thru w/ it. how come the pain didn't scare u from getting it done in the first place?
it's almost the same.

Go for the 'traditional' method! Get it tattooed over with acid and then have the area rubbed with a caustic stick. Works every time although it doesn't always look too pretty and has been known to make those who shrug off getting tattooed in the first place cry :)
