Who knows alot about OCR
 

do u need special software or a special printer?

im trying to scan some stuff and be able to edit it.

Most scanners these days come with OCR software. A normal printer will do, since the character recognition is done with the scanning device.

If your scanner didn't come with it then you could try this:

I haven't seen a scanner sold in the past couple years that didn't have an OCR program bundled with it though. Check your install CD's to make sure you didn't forget to install it.
