Fry's Electronics -- SUCKS BIG TIME!!
How can they advertise something at a sale price then write you a raincheck, then tell you they might never get another shipment of said product in again. WTF
Alos, some of the stupidest people in the world work at Fry's!!! FUCKERS  :ak47: |
they never did that here the one in my area but their memory sticks and motherboards always are effected and never work

Just because you are too slow to get in on the deals, jeez. hater. |
You have to be quick on Fry's deals ... I love that store. But you are right about the rain check thing, that's the thing about Fry's, they never know how much of one thing they will get in.

I would like to see the receipts for a days sales at my local Frys. I've never been in that place without seeing at least 2 big screen TVs going out the door. They must sell 20 a day.
|
They're cheap, but the service sucks in my experience.
|
Frys is awsome for cheap deals on some things but I still do mail order on most large items to avoid sales tax.

After getting 1 in 5 sticks of RAM to working, and several pci cards that had been returned (missing drivers / broken?) put back on their shelf, I buy from several of the dealers on pricewatch - especially the ones that have better feedback.
I get tired of returning crap, that has already been returned, that gets put back on the floor. |

oh and be happy they gave you a raincheck, people who were dickheads when i was running things, i just told them to go shop somewhere else
:1orglaugh |
Yeah, there was a time when you could buy wine and some nice banana's in the fruit section!!!

The clerk told the guys he needed the box also, or they couldn't return the board. One guy said that's why we got a better deal on one, because it didn't have a box. The clerk said....... but I need the box or i can't put it back on the shelf. :1orglaugh When i lived in the Bay Area, I would go thru 4 or 5 hard drives before i got a good one. But they are the cheapest, after years of buying at Fry's I just stopped, wasn't worth it. |

dont go to the one in burbank. the worst! |
The rainchecks can be a problem because a lot fo the time they are buying in quantity as a one time special and don't plan on buying that amount or getting the same discount again so they will probably lose money on your raincheck but it's up to the management to have a good supply on hand...

For entertainment I sometimes go there and wander around listening to sales people lay it on their fish. When they leave to look something up, I then walk up to the fish and give them some facts so they don't get talked into buying tons of crap they don't need. |

hhahahah I worked at frys once upon a time when 386 was still the chip to get and a 1 gig hard drive sold for $1000 buck
I sold quite a few. I also sold 40 macintosh to steve wozniak that company is so aass backwards.. yet it somehow continues to thrive and prosper. So glad I only lasted 9 months. the next year was 1994 and I was just starting to build web pages in html using mosaic browser on a netcom dial up account. yahoo was still at akebono.stanford.edu man those were the days hhehehhe |

I stopped shopping there when I was returning 4/5 items over a year ago.

I wish we had a Fry's around here. :(
|
I've never shopped at a Fry's and I'm not hearing much good. I wonder if there are 100 happy customer for every pissed off poster here, or if this is actually an accurate set of descriptions.

I hate when that happens.
some companies sucks!!! |
Hehe, caveat emptor... is all I can say.
Well, actually I am big winded so I will keep going. Fry's is a good place to shop for nerds. If you are not one, then step out because you will get burned. I notice shit like stuff on sale because a forklift crushed it. Some people can't see those tell-tale signs like an acordianed box or the sounds of inside pieces clanging around... A friend of mine bought a referbished monitor that said referbished all over it when he bought it. Trinitron or some shit and normally about $700 and he got it for $250. Good deal, but no matter what you do with the controls, the picture is slightly out of whack... he bitches about Fry's on a daily basis now... is anyone even reading this? If you think I am short winded, read on: http://216.239.57.104/search?q=cache...27s+suck&hl=en http://216.239.57.104/search?q=cache...27s+suck&hl=en And even further reading by someone who works there and does a tell all book on it. http://216.239.57.104/search?q=cache...27s+suck&hl=en |
That is a fucked up way to do business.
