Best way to benefit when China floats the renminbi?

What currencies to buy or places to invest to take advantage ahead of this event?

hmm, nobody interested in this? You guys who have lost 30% of your net-worth due to the fall of the dollar might want to look into making a move ahead of this event. :2 cents:

I'm interested in this.

But to post such thread on gfy increases the intellect of this board. Some believe that to be dangerous

Just because theres pressure from the us legislators, floating the currency will not happen any time soon. The most they will do is revalue it to 7rmb to 1 dollar or something to appease the americans.

great thread. I made a move last week to invest in a hedge fund that purchases only A share funds which trade on the Shanghai stock exchange. This is just now becomming available to us investors. The currency issue alone should boost this investment. Keep in mind that full membership into the World Trade Organization will force them to float the currency in some manner that is more realistic than what its worth now. The full membership takes place in 2005. Not to mention the fact that China is going to explode in growth and companies are going to emerge as great leading companies that will make money. They have 1.3Billion people with 480 million of those people being in urban areas. They lead the world in broadband internet users, and thats still growing at a remarkable rate. They are booming in all areas. I am betting that China will be a great new place to get in at the infancy stage of a country's economic rise. :2 cents:
