Northern Lights

We can see the Northern Lights tonight.

It is one of the most spectacular sights of
nature to be seen.

I live in Iowa supposedly tonight they can be seen as far south as arkansas and oklahoma...

this is a rare treat so if you can step outside look up and north see if you can view them....

Yeah, they were bright as hell. I went out to rent some dvds and the whole northern sky was a glowing blue, as bright as a full moons light. I saw some waving glimmers of reddish orange too in a few spots.

Fuckin cool.

the Aurora Borealis is an amazing thing

I thought since they can be seen in Arkansas and Oklahoma, maybe I might be able to see them too. No lights in Tennessee though. :(

Down in Tennesee I think they would be mostly just a glow on the northern horizon. But you might be able to see them if you have a good spot to look.

I'm in pennsylvania- they were pretty big, lighting up about 40 degrees of the sky at their max. lighting up the clouds.

They've quieted down to about a third of their maximum, but if you watch it you can see these eerie flickers of light, sudden streaks and banners. In the brightest areas it lights up almost white in patches, like a lightning bolt seen from a distance, but it lasts longer.

Not as colorful as some I've seen, mostly blue and white.
