Sales loser at Porsche / Audi acted like a complete c.unt. WTF?

How much do these clowns make?

I asked about an Audi and the guy explained that he only handles the Porsche "Product" and that he could not assist me.

What a fucking snobby dick.

I used to work as a quality control tech at a Porsche dealership. They also sold jaguars there but the sales team were broken down into three seperate forces based on brand of car and if it was used. Those guys are so cut throat they would probably rather see you leave then to ask about a car they are not selling and have to refer you to another sales man.
By the way those clowns make some serious bank for what they do BUT i believe your required to snort coke and wear bad suits.

I think they're earning quite a lot.

I doubt that they make serious money beside hundrets of people buys cars there every month and they get the sales commission for finishing contracts.

I also doubt that most salesmen do commission based work, but even if they would, they're employed salesmen and don't own the whole dealership, profit margins aren't infinite.

There are however commission based workers in many sales areas that make huge amounts of money because they have sales skills others don't have. Those people would never turn anybody down and work things out, good money isn't to be made otherwise.

Huh? A salesman working on commision isnt going to make 'serious money' when 'hundreds of people' buy cars each month?

You might want to step back into the real world, most salepersons who work in showrooms only get a very basic low end salarie structure, the rest of their income is generated from commisions and, for a high end product such as a car, their commisions percentage can range anywhere from 7%-15% per sale.

Lee

You forgot to read the word "beside" in my sentence.

As far as I know most cars in the US are on lease or financed through a credit, not every car is that expensive and I don't think that most sales guys sell 10+ cars/month in most areas.

On which planet would this be? I worked in sales for years - the basic salaries ARE low, but if I had got 7% commission on everything I sold I would have retired by the time I was 25...

I actually knew a car salesman- they do work primarily off commission- regardless if the car is financed or not they get paid on the sale price of the car.

It's just like any other store, there is the actual cost - wholesale, and the selling price- retail. The salesman fights to keep the sale as close to retail as he can- the more of the mark up that stays intact, the more $$ they get.

My buddy works for Mercedes Benz in Australia. He is on $AU50,000/year and earns an extra $AU5-10k/month commission

... Not a shitload of money, but for a 20year old, he does well. Plus he drives Mercs around.
