The Bible Code is acutally more interesting and more believable. They've already put a team into action to see if this event was mentioned in the bible.

If you don't know about the Bible Code, check it out http://www.biblecodedigest.com

I surely wouldn't be using the Bible to try to predict anything.

You can prove just about anything you want by taking things out of context in the Bible, or by simply adding your own spin on what it says.

Here are some examples:

The XXX Rated Bible: http://www.postfun.com/pfp/NC-17Bible.html

Here a crackpot uses Bible quotes to infer Harry Potter children's books are satanic: http://www.exposingsatanism.org/harrypotter.htm

Another crackpot uses Bible quotes to infer Santa Claus is a tool of satan: http://www.simnet.is/shitonline/santa.html

And my favourite, the Skeptic's Annotated Bible: http://skepticsannotatedbible.com/says_about.htm

I also forgot to mention that biblecodedigest.com is trying to sell their predictions for $24.95 a year. I'm guessing they will try to find a prediction for everything they can, just so they can keep everyone coming back for more!

This is what I got in my email:

In the year of the new century and nine months
>From the sky will come a great King of Terror
The sky will burn at 45 degrees (NY is on the 45th
parallel)
Fire approaches the great new city in the City of God
There will be great thunder
Two brothers (the towers)
Torn apart by Chaos
While the fortress (the pentagon) endures
The great leader will succumb
The third big war will begin when the city is burning"
~Nostradamus (1654)

"In the year of the new century and nine months
From the sky will come a great King of Terror The sky will burn at 45 degrees"

This same stuff was flying around the net yesterday. Now it seems they have added those 3 lines above to make it more menacing. When it was posted yesterday it never mentioned anything about that. I think there must be some people that are just stirring up shit by adding more details to what was originally a vague prediction that could be related to anything, just like the rest of his "predictions". If those 3 lines were in his original prediction then he did a dam fine job, but I don't think they were.

Stop fuckin frighten people. As I remember Nostradamus said New York will be wiped out in 1999. And that then will be the end of the world. Maybe were all dead?

evildick 09-12-2001 02:24 PM

Here's the original one I seen:

"In the City of God there will be a great thunder, two brothers torn apart by chaos, while the fortress endures, the great leader will succumb.", "The third big war will begin when the big city is burning." - Nostradamus

I guess that one wasn't juicy enough, so some people decided to make it more specific.

evildick 09-12-2001 02:42 PM

After doing a search on google the real prediction as he wrote it appears to be as follows:

"In the year 1999 and seven months
From the sky will come the great King of Terror.
He will bring back to life the King of the Mongols;
Before and after war reigns.
The war will last seven and twenty years.
The sky will burn at forty-five degrees.
Fire approaches the great new city."

It appears people are taking snippets of what he says and adding them together with his other predictions, and changing things as they like.

Here are some other interpretations as to the 45 degrees issue:
http://www.parascope.com/articles/1296/alfredo.htm

And another:

"What is the "fire in the sky at 45 degrees?" It so happens that the first Allied bombing raid on Ploesti, Rumania occurred within a week of Mussolini's downfall. This was a famous air raid of World War II where, although over one-third of the petroleum facilities at Ploesti were destroyed (spewing plenty of fire into the sky), the Allies lost 40 bombers in the raid. Oh yes, Ploesti is exactly 45 degrees north."

I can't believe I just wasted so much time on this!

:^)

What makes you so sure that that ONE is the RIGHT one?

Darren 09-12-2001 03:09 PM

That Nostradamus quote is total BS. Don't believe everything that you read on the Internet.

He died in 1566.

here's something right from the book. It is the entire prediction about the "new city"

I'm inlcuding both the original text and the translation from the book:

The New City
Century 1, Quatrain 24
A cité neuue pensif pour condemner,
L'oisel de proye au ciel se vient offrir:
Apres victoire à captifs pardonner,
Cremone & Mantoue gras maux aura souffert.

The new city contemplating a condemnation,
The bird of prey offers itself to the heavens.
After victory pardon to the captives,
Cremona and Mantua will have suffered great evils.

Century 1, Quatrain 87
Ennosigee feu du centre de terre,
Fera trembler autour de cité neuue
Deux gras rochers long têps feront la guerre,
Puis Arethuse rougira nouueau fleuue.

Earth-shaking fire from the center of the earth.
Will cause the towers around the New City to shake,
Two great rocks for a long time will make war,
And then Arethusa will color a new river red.

Century 6, Quatrain 97
Cinq & quarante degrés ciel bruslera
Feu approcher de la grand cité neuue [neufue]
Instant grand flamme esparse sautera
Quand on voudra des Normans faire preuue.

At forty-five degrees, the sky will burn,
Fire approaches the great new city,
Immediately a huge, scattered flame leaps up
When they want to have verification from the Normans.

Century 9, Quatrain 92
Le Roy voudra en cité neufue entrer,
Par ennemis expugner l'on viendra
Captif libere faux dire & perpetrer,
Roy dehors estre, loin d'ennemis tiendra.

The king will want to enter the new city,
Through its enemies they will come to subdue it
Captives liberated to speak and act falsely,
King to be outside, he will keep far from the enemy.

Century 10, Quatrain 49
Jardin du monde aupres du cité neufue,
Dans le chemin des montaignes cauees,
Sera saisi et plongé dans la Cuue,
Beuuant par force eaux soulfre enuenimees.

Garden of the world near the new city,
In the path of the hollow mountains,
It will be seized and plunged into the Vat,
Drinking by force the waters poisoned by sulfur.

so it looks to me like a lot of people are bastadizing the predictions to make them a little more accurate then they are. Cremona and Mantua are cities in Italy and if I recall correctly Arethusa is some type of myth/godess and the Normans have been gone for a long long time
