Hate it when I am really tired but can't sleep

I was a good girl and went to bed at 1am but at 4am I suddenly shot awake. I don't know why I woke up but I was still tired and just spent the last three hours laying there cursing my inability to drift off. So, now I am sitting here working at 8am..with a few hours of sleep, totally exhausted yet unable to sleep. Joy.

Actually, it happened to me before for a couple of times now. All I did was try to get back to my sleep so that my body clock will not get used to it. And that my normal sleeping hours would go back to its normal state

I'm having an insonmia for a week now.

mardigras 11-16-2004 09:35 AM

I have an "always on" connection by the bed. When I wake up in the middle of the night I either read or work on a page. Either way I get tired enough to go to sleep or I get something extra done:)

My other method (unintentional) is to put something on I have been really interested in watching. Works every time:1orglaugh

Welp, if you take something or ingest anything to help, you will be dragging the next day and feel worse....

Lots of folks take Tylenol PM which is nothing but 25mg of benadryl rolled into tylenol.

But that can give you hangover too.

I have a bad case of poison oak right now, and the doctor gave me little pills that have (as a side effect) kept me awake for four days now. Some might think "cool! I want some!" but I'm way too old for this shit now...

:(

LeeNoga 11-16-2004 02:21 PM

Milk makes the body increase its seratonin to create niters and if you cannot do milk because it does you, health food stores, or any stores that sell herbal meds [any dept store], take the seratonin tabs.
