Things to do in Washington/Maryland?

We're flying to Maryland for a week to visit relations etc and need suggestions for stuff to do that doesn't involve looking at statues or visiting museums. There has to be something else to do in that area. Any suggestions? Preferably stuff that we couldn't do simply by staying home :glugglug

Thanks - that's about all we could come up with too :( I figured there's gotta be something else there. Oh well - Atlantic City isn't tooo far away so may drive there and stay overnight.

Find a travel agent and buy a one way ticket to Australia?

Make sure it's to Queensland though 'cause that way you get to enjoy summer all year round :1orglaugh

you are 2.5 hours from Philly...lots to do here..but AC is always good...you are close to Anapolis too. The naval Acedemy tour is really nice but I guess if you are not into museums that would not float your boat

It's not so much not being into them as more it being a short trip and wanting to do something 'different'. We'll be staying very close to Annapolis which is part of the problem. Great if you like crab meat :helpme

Whilst mentioning it can anyone recommend a good hotel in Atlantic City? It's only one or two nights so something central, comfortable and fun :)

it is off season as far as the weather so all the casinos will have deals....The most expensive right now is going to be Borgota you can prob get the best deal at Showboat. There is a Holiday Inn next to trop World but is no different in price than most of the casinos...Also at the end of the Island there is the Flagship..they are condos but they rent then for days and weeks I beleive
