Watching MTV Cribs Makes Me Realize....

That so many celebrities (especially rappers), have no fucking taste and way too much money. LOL!

DH

SomeCreep 11-15-2004 07:28 PM

I could tell that just by looking at all the gold they like to wear in their teeth :winkwink: :glugglug

Sly 11-15-2004 07:28 PM

We need a GFY Cribs of your place. We haven't seen any pictures since you bought it!

SmutGiant 11-15-2004 07:30 PM

Bobby Vicious 11-15-2004 07:36 PM

Word!

sickkittens 11-15-2004 07:37 PM

I swear that every rapper episode, they use the same house and garage w/ same cars. :(

Pipecrew 11-15-2004 07:38 PM

Dude, watch for Ja Rule on cribs, he's the biggest chump, the house he showed wasnt even his own, it was one he rented in miami beach, and he fucked the place up soo much that the lady who owns it, exposed him and is now suing him.

evildick 11-15-2004 07:40 PM

There was a story on the news about how some of the rappers had just rented big, showy houses for Cribs. One band got in trouble when they had a bunch of people over to the house after the taping and shit got trashed...the real owner ended up suing them for damages.

:1orglaugh

edit: too slow, someone beat me to it.

Yeah I read about that! LMAO!!!!

Show me some more pics of Kris's house, that impresses me :thumbsup

ChandieGirl 11-15-2004 07:42 PM

SO true!

Have you ever noticed most of the houses don't look
lived in at all? Nothing on the counters. No pictures.
It's like a (bad) decorator came in, put it together, and
then no one added another thing.

Well, maybe that one bottle of obligatory Cristal in the fridge.

NinjaSteve 11-15-2004 07:45 PM

We'll never see LL Cool J on MTV Cribs, because he said so in his new album. You know he's blinging, so he doesn't have to prove shit.

Sly 11-15-2004 07:45 PM

Most of them are n*gger rich anyway. Blow every penny on ridiculous luxury items. By the time they're careers are over they have no money left and resort to co-hosting MTV flops.

nap 11-15-2004 07:50 PM

Sounds like a lot of people are hating on this board. If they look nice to you are not doesn't matter. They paid for it and now they show the world what THEY want.

Would a "GFY" cribs really be that much different?

Fuck taste.

Doctor Dre 11-15-2004 07:52 PM

Totally agreed ... lol

And some of them are broke asses

Spunky 11-15-2004 07:54 PM

I like that show..it's hilarious on what they waste their money on

clueless 11-15-2004 07:54 PM

That all celebrities featured in CRIBS have the same interior designer. The problem is, the designer doesn't have any taste at all!

If you had a house that big, and a maid, it would look like that too. There is only so many rooms you can use every day and the maid cleans them daily

Most of America watches Jerry Springer and shops at Wal-Mart for their fine washables. Throw $1 million dollars at your average person and see if you don't find black laquer all over the huge house with the note they won't be able to pay by year three.

It's not just rappers with the problem. It's most of America. The thing is, only the rappers and ballplayers get the opportunity to make it, flaunt and lose it so easily and so often.

But, none of us can say they don't have 20 years worth of fun in their 3 years of fame and fortune.

AlienQ - BANNED FOR LIFE 11-15-2004 08:43 PM

I see those sorta shows as flaunting and bragging about all the wonderful things I will never have.

It's superficial crap television like this that really spits in the face of common folk. Its an insult.

Fuck them assholes...

You would think so right? But it's not about the $$$, it's about the image and maintaining a certain look. I'm sure most of the "smart" ones have a nice stash put away, even if they do not know much about making $$$ work for them.

I do think it's crazy the amount of money they make. But they're young and deserve to live it up with every penny that THEY 'made'(esp those comming up from a poor family)

Well said. It's consumerism in America that's driving this problem. Everyone wants to impress everyone else, and thinks the way to do that is buy buying a bunch of shit that nobody needs. Nobody plans for tomorrow. :2 cents:

sickkittens 11-15-2004 08:58 PM

I like when they go to their cars....the 1st thing they all say is "24"s"

Are the rims that much more important than the car? :helpme

It's a variation on the 'riceboy' phenomenon

style over substance

robfantasy 11-15-2004 09:10 PM

i see pharell at the clubs around here all the time he is always blinging in a bentley or a rolls. he and chad hugo got money for realz.

timbaland drives a blue lambo sometimes and his little brother drives a blue ferrari modena 360 and i never see missy but ive seen her house and its like a castle.

shermo 11-15-2004 09:48 PM

The more I see these homes, the more I realize that they really don't invest in smart things. Who needs a million square foot home, 20 cars and 3,000 flat screen TV's? The best part is that the majority of the homes are rented. DO people actually believe that the record advance money can buy all this? Do the artists actually think that the advances are theirs to keep? :1orglaugh

mhende6600 11-15-2004 09:54 PM

Its no difference than when Robbie Leech use to have that show called Life Styles of the Rich and Famous..stop hating rappers and athletes.

KRL 11-15-2004 10:24 PM

They had Damon Dash on an ABC show about luxury living. He's the found of RocAFella records i.e. Jay-Z's label.

Fucker had a diamond earing small as shit that he paid $350,000 for. Wasn't even impressive rock.

These people don't know what to do with.

Though Damon is a sharp businessman and has built a $350 Million company, he could probably be a billionaire if he didn't spend so wastefully.

Thurbs 11-15-2004 10:54 PM

thats what happen when u get tacky ppl with lots of money.

Thats what happens to people that never had shit and all of a sudden have serious cash

mardigras 11-16-2004 01:04 PM

At least houses are usually a good investment. All the electronics & gadget toys start dropping value the moment you buy them.

BuckLover 11-16-2004 01:18 PM

Not just that! but garanteed 90% of them will blow through that money! and have nothing to show for it in the end!:2 cents:

webmaster x 11-16-2004 01:24 PM

sometimes when i watch i feel that some people really gets all the luck in the world.

Sarah_Jayne 11-16-2004 01:38 PM

Whenever I catch myself watching that I feel so dirty. I just keep hearing an old person's voice saying 'it is just lifestyles of the rich and famous'

LoL... Ihave Cribs on auto record on my Tivo... I watch all of them to get ideas for rooms in my house or maybe a future house. Some of those guys have NO taste. Some atheletes have some pimp houses though.

But I also realized how much money some of these Rappers DONT make when they show their 3000 sq foot house

fktup 11-16-2004 02:21 PM

you gotta catch Snoop Dogg on cribs. He's funny as shit! And you know his money is for real.
