Whats the smallest camera with the best quality pics
In a decent price range?
I want one for Vegas, just a small one i can carry around in my pocket. Walking around there with my d60 with a huge ass lens isnt really comfortable i found out last time. Im not looking for a 5mp cam, just something decent, as small as possible. |

Konica Minolta Dimage XG
5mp camera, takes video, can be used as a webcam. Start up time is about 0.8 seconds. Flip it on, take a picture, turn it off. 2 seconds went by. :Graucho |
i'll just BUMP it for you.

Looking good and only 200 bucks....i might pick that one up if nobody has something better.

I don't know about the minolta dimage, i have the x version and my indoor pics are really bad. I bought it last year for like 500 when it first came out and it was a big disappointment. I don't recommend any of the dimage cameras.

You're looking for the Sony DSC-T1. It's a 5MP, fits in your pocket and takes great pics. Perfect for carrying around for candids at Internext or anywhere else:

well, it's just physics---usually very small camera = small imager and small lens opening so getting very high image quality out of small camera in ambiant light is a tough battle.
best all round image quality without flash requires a good fast lens. lots of choices, but for small walk around camera that can deliver pro type guality for web work i would go for oly 5050 or 5060 or canon G series---or a camera that can use microdrive so you can take hundreds of high quality pix. a little bigger compact camera (fixed lens) like the lumix series is also good. no substitute for a good lens. lots of choices, check image samples: www.dpreview.com |
