Are we on the downward spiral
 

The country as a whole. Lately a lot of people seem to think that the country is going to hell in a handbasket, do you think that this is just the cyclical nature of things, or has the USA started its demise?

maybe cynical but they do have some basis to it.. look around

I said cyclical, but I guess there is a greater chance of it being a cynical attitude.
