The New Firefox 1.0

If you haven't tried Firefox 1.0, you definitely should check it out!

http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/

I like this browser better than Opera now.

Spunky 11-19-2004 10:00 PM

Think I'll give it a shot ....thanks..I'm so tired of this fuckin spyware shit

Spunky 11-19-2004 10:01 PM

Unspecified error 7-Zip? :(

Spunky 11-19-2004 10:12 PM

Seems fine now..Liking it much better than I.E :glugglug

Pornwolf 11-19-2004 10:16 PM

It's easily the best browser right now.

brizzad 11-19-2004 10:23 PM

i still stand by my remark that IE is the best browser with proper protection...

however, until IE gets tabbed browsing within one window, i'll be using firefox

sake 11-19-2004 10:25 PM

downloading the 1.0 update right now..

Kizon 11-19-2004 10:33 PM

I've been using firefox for the last couple versions and I can't stand I.E. on other peoples computers. I mean firefox is faster and it has tabbed browsing and most spyware and other annoying javascript dont affect me.

Firefox :thumbsup

Wolfy 11-19-2004 10:50 PM

yep;. go firefox

Flow 11-19-2004 10:54 PM

I love firefox - it rules and is all that I use now. If I could unistall IE, I would (actually I did on my first computer that I ever owned years ago and it fucked it up big time - would not recommend to anybody to try it)!

you can get tabbed browsing with IE - it needs an add on that you can pick up at http://www.deepnetexplorer.com

Even though Firefox uses about 5% more memory than IE I still think Firefox is the better of the two - I just can't see how you can keep the crap out of IE no matter what security you use.

Steen2 11-19-2004 11:30 PM

I like FF better overall but I must say IE opens pages faster (in general).

However, I am not on the latest FF (one behind 1.0 final?).

bryany 11-19-2004 11:33 PM

Tabs Rock!

:thumbsup

KRL 11-19-2004 11:37 PM

There's an extension which quickly views a page in IE also.

https://update.mozilla.org/extension...=&category=All

Thumbs is great for instant generation of thumbnails on tgp link lists.

I also installed Image Zoom, Down Them All, and Wayback.

I like the simplicity of Firefox. Opera has some cool features but you lose screen space. Opera also is less stable.

Steen2 11-19-2004 11:40 PM

Tabs?

Where do I turn "tabs" on?

If u like your themes and extentions then stay at .9 ......... I have reinstalled it until things settle down

But I do think that FF has to make MS rethink their browser policies. I also hope that we dont start see a whole load of exploits for ff as it gets more popular.

In fact FF IS SHIT DONT GET IT :)

Noia 2.0 eXtreme rocks!

Mine are working fine. I uninstalled my themes and extensions and then installed them back (the 1.0 updated ones) and they all are working perfectly.

Check the home pages of the extension and theme creators. I found updates on there home pages that hadn't been updated yet on Mozilla.

Ludedude 11-20-2004 01:16 AM

For those of you complaining about the speed of FF opening windows, I assume you createed a user.js file in your profile and put the following code in it:
user_pref("nglayout.initialpaint.delay", 0);

I believe the default is 250 which equates to 250 ms...that's a hella long time to wait ;)

sake 11-20-2004 01:19 AM

noia 2.0 extreme is the best theme for firefox imo

hershie 11-20-2004 01:27 AM

I want the damn GoogleBar or at least the PageRank extenstion they had for the previous releases. I have to tab to IE all day long now justto see a site's PR.

I've been using firefox for about a month now, and I'm still getting spyware, mainly CWS variations. So firefox isn't eliminating the threat, it's just not effected by it.

smack 11-20-2004 02:05 AM

i'm still on 0.9.3 i gotta go upgrade. :glugglug
