Preview Thumb question for TGP owners.
 

I see a quite a few thumb TGPs with preview thumbs that have the text: "Play Video" or "Video" etc on them.

My question is: Would it be a good idea for us to have a set of thumbs like this available for all our video galleries? I could see where it would really be nice for our embedded movie galleries coming from a TGP.

Currently we have 2 sizes of thumbs (& 5 descriptions)
I could make 2 more sets of thumbs that have "video" on them for the movie galleries.


With our new gallery exporter you can then export huge lists of our galleries with different variables. It would be easy to filter out all the movie galleries and select to use these so called "video thumbs" in that list.


Would that be cool?

Please, please don't. If I want the word "video" on a thumb, I'll stamp it myself.

As it is, I delete a lot of good galleries because I can't get a clean thumb from it (with no text on it) Nothing I hate worse than seeing a FHG laden TGP with 400 different fonts covering the thumbs.

Plus - if the TGP wants "video" on it some of the progs out there put it on the thumb, no need for you to do it. I would say if the TGP owner wants it on there they will have it put on.

Let me make clear that I was going to have this as another option and I am hosting the thumbs,

Say for example someone using the embedded galleries might want to use a video thumb or if you want to use the video thumbs on all the video galleries thats not a problem. Our "Gallery Exporter" will export the thumb url links for what ever kind you tell it and give it to you in text file or whatever you choose. It's pretty slick!


Each gallery will have all 4 kinds available on our B/W!

As an option I guess you could save some people a bit of time, but I'd still prefer to stamp it with my own font.

I wouldn't recommend enabling it by default, though.

At least you're constantly thinking of new ideas and being innovative man!

Whether or not webmasters are interested in THIS one, coming up with fresh ideas / ways to make it easier on the webmasters is the most important thing.

Yah I agee about the FONT issue, maybe a movie symbol would be more universal.

in a bit the defaults will be what you set them.
