adding drives to a RAID 0+1.. how do I do it?

I have a system with 4 drives all SATA, and it's setup as 0+1

I just bought more drives for it today and a scsi controller. Is there any trick to it? Can I just mount the drives and plug them into the controller and they'll show up in the windows manager so I can format them?

Will I be able to format them as 1 drive?

I built the computer myself. I am tech support, but I've never added drives to a RAID setup before.

4 sata drives in there currently, and I bought more today, but only two more sata drives will go into this machine using a scsi controller. The other 2 are for a different machine.
