Prison rape does not happen on death row. The prisoners are too isolated and restricted. It happens in general population.

Good call. A life sentence would have been MUCH rougher on him. Now he gets to languish the days away in a private cell waiting for his appeals to run out. He probably would get killed sooner in general, after going through a living hell.
