A nightmare before Christmas

I've been watching threads regarding what everyone wants for christmas while at the same time watching my own family fall apart - my wish is a simple one - to have my family at christmas - but this wont be the case.

Ego's and untempered words have strained any hope of a family foundation. It is painful to live out ill-wished holidays between those who onced said, "I love you"

Blood it appears is thicker than water - enough to clog the free passage under the bridge towards forgiveness.

This christmas be thankful for every member that sits to break bread with you - and recall that the greatest presents are not under the tree but rather around your table.

Severing all ties with my blood relations was the best thing I ever did. But what's good and right for me may well not be anything you can do or handle, and I'm not trying to tell you how to feel or think or what to do.

I do, however, honestly wish you the very best. I truly hope everything works out for you.

Merry Christmas and I wish you all the best. Time heals all wounds.

thanks everyone - at least I have to look forward to vegas and get all this sentimental shit out of the way so I can go on pretending I have a family that is normal
