anyone good one traffic laws? fucking guy hit my car...

alright, so on monday...I'm turning into Taco Bell...

there was a double yellow line between me and hte entrance.... up, maybe 20-30 ft. there's a turn lane (but that's already past the entrance, so only way to use the turn lane is make a u-turn)

so, just as I'm turning in, this fucking guy backups up into my rear driver door, completely fucked it up, it needs a total replacement...

the guy was at a fucking STOP LIGHT, he was already stopped, so there was no fucking reason for me to look back.

now his fucking insurance company (progressive) is saying it's partly MY fault because I crossed the double yellow line and making a traffic violation...even though this was the only way to turn into there....

so does anyone know the laws inside and out?

there's gotta be a loop hole or somethign cuz

lets say...hypothetically...this was your own house, and there was no turn lane, do you just keep on driving till you find a turn lane...FUCK NO...

Is it legal to turn left across a double yellow line?

It is legal to turn left across a double yellow line in Washington State UNLESS it is 18 inches or wider across and has a solid or cross-hatched center. Most double yellow lines in Wenatchee have a 12-inch total width and are used to designate "No Passing" zones. Most left turns that are prohibited in Wenatchee are restricted with appropriate curbing.
