Fake, but very nice and can't burn the house down:)
Also it will last forever:thumbsup

infecto 12-19-2004 09:03 PM

Fake, cheaper in the long run and alot better looking imo if you spend the money and get a good one.

Quickdraw 12-19-2004 09:07 PM

It's alive and stil in the pot. Stands about 7' and with the pot leaves room for presents :)

Then we'll plant it and enjoy it for years to come :)

I want to start doing this next year. I have a lot of room for trees and I started thinking its a shame to burn or toss them every year. It would be neat to plant each one with the memories of that christmas.

This is our first year doing it, and it's not much more cost than buying a fresh cut tree(or even heading to the hills to cut your own)

I guess it can only be in the house for about a week and a half or it starts to come out of hibernation.

When my Grandma died a few years ago the mortuary gave us a little pine that was about a foot tall. That baby is about 9' tall now and every time I look at it I think of her :) Call me sentimental :)

I am hoping to achieve the same kind of affect with this tree, especially for the little ones:angel (I'd be a bah humbug guy if it weren't for them anyway)

Might even go so far as to pour a concrete curb around it and have the girls make some impressions with their hands or feet and stamp the year and whatever.. Who knows, at least something to mark it.

Although, I will miss standing the cut tree up and torching it. Can be a good show..

Rantan 12-19-2004 09:35 PM

Just seeing how true the 50-50 thing is from the news. I just bought our first fake tree this year and we really like it. I normally spend from $40 to $100 each year and I am damn tired of throwing out money for a once a year decoration. I am 56 and have spent a hell of a lot of money on trees and different ornaments. I could have retired by now if I had invested that money into MS stock back when I started buying trees.
