Any thoughts?? The DaVinci Code is supposed to have the same protagonist as Angels and Demons...

Screaming 12-27-2004 08:55 PM

So far I love it, and I bought angels and demons which is the book before the DaVinci code

Spudstr 12-27-2004 08:56 PM

Aw, them maybe we can start a GFY book reading club =) lol.. I'm getting ready to jump into it now

smit 12-27-2004 09:07 PM

i've read both of them in a matter of a week... his writing style just keeps me addicted... until i read digital fortress soon thereafter and got sick of dan brown... anyways, i liked the da vinci code and angels and demons, good reads for entertainment, but don't go on thinking that brown is writing fact... but FICTION. check out the ton of books out there that have discredited his claims if you don't believe me. :glugglug

seer 12-27-2004 09:42 PM

very good book, been out for awhile just blew up because of all the attention to "mary"

Furious_Female 12-27-2004 10:38 PM

I read it last year... awesome book. Possibly my favorite ever!

I hope the movie doesn't disappoint me though.

Phoenix 12-27-2004 10:41 PM

i've read it and Angels and Demons

I hear Tom hanks will play Robert Langdon...i think he is perfect for the role.

i cant wait

the book is a must have

D Flower 12-27-2004 11:04 PM

I thought The DaVinci Code was a great read and written in a very engaging style. I couldn't put the book down and read it in one sitting. After I finished it, I read Dan Brown's other books. They were also pretty good, but you could see how his writing style evolved between his first book and The DaVinci Code. I'm looking forward to his next book.

pornguy 12-27-2004 11:07 PM

Dont forget that all fiction is based on fact.

Tuga 12-27-2004 11:08 PM

I read it and I enjoyed it.

psyko514 12-28-2004 12:32 AM

I just finished Angels and Demons and LOVED it; I'm going to read The Davinci Code once I'm finished a book I got for xmas. I'm really interested in pursuing a little research on the topic; my family is Catholic and Brown's book has been quite thought-provoking. Can you ask for more from fiction? Entertainment AND education :)

i was able to read the DaVinci Code in one sitting... Angels and Demons in 2 days. it's good that Brown was able to merge a good plot with supposedly historic facts.

Dan Brown's other books, Digital Fortress and Deception Point are pretty good as well. Not the same main character but good stories nonetheless.

haven't read it yet but sounds interesting

Rhino22 12-28-2004 02:16 PM

I don't like books. Just the internet ;)

cfU 12-28-2004 02:17 PM

I tivo'd "Unlocking the DaVincci Code" and something else, I think it
was, "The Mystery of the Shroud" on discovery channel. Set your tivo's to
record them - very intresting specials. [highly reccomend them]

JDog 12-28-2004 02:19 PM

Read both The Davinci Code and also Angles & Demons - both a great books - recommended reading!

Stasia 12-28-2004 02:19 PM

Dan Brown is not exactly a good writer and it shows if you look a bit deeper in the book. But what really saves this story is the relentless pace while the reader is busy trying to figure out what's real.
Unfortunately he tried to do the same in Digital Fortress and that one sucks horribly. :)

But the story in The DaVinci Code is really good, so do read it. :)

IKE 12-28-2004 03:14 PM

I have read all of them. Charlote Simmons is good but not Wolfe's best. Kinda formula. Hard for a 70 (?) yo to really get college kids maybe?

reynold 12-29-2004 03:58 AM

my specialty.. :playboy

OG LennyT 12-29-2004 08:10 AM

I'm reading it now, just passed the museum break-out chapter.

bvds 12-29-2004 08:55 AM

ironlung 12-29-2004 08:58 AM

i read angels and demons and da vinci code and i think they are 2 of the best books written, you learn alot of weird things reading those books, i also read deception point by dan brown which was very good to

Violetta 12-29-2004 09:04 AM

I have read the DaVinci Code, and I loved it...
