Tax Questions

Ok You Wanna Pay Taxes.
You sell stuff on ebay under someone elses name and the paypal.... can you report it as your name and pay the taxes?

flashfire 01-09-2005 04:44 PM

why would you want to report it in this case?

lanclandesigns 01-09-2005 04:44 PM

cause I don't want the IRS to fuck with the person I'm selling for, (my brothers wife), and the TAX-ID (EIN) that we order stuff with, is under my name.

Go offshore with your Ebay biz and report only your GFY sig income ;)

LOL make them report it.

faxxaff 01-09-2005 04:49 PM

Neither ebay nor paypal request a SSN nor TIN!

Your request is BS.

lanclandesigns 01-09-2005 04:52 PM

faxaaf what does that mean though? I'm a newb to taxes, I know they don't request a social security number..... but I buy stuff with a TAX-ID, that I resell on ebay........but the ebay account is under her name, and so is the paypal account, cause I've got thrown off and suspended with my real name.......
so what should I do

Sparks 01-09-2005 04:53 PM

Hmmm, I don't think you can. I would just give him the money.

faxxaff 01-09-2005 04:55 PM

I never had to sign up with a tax ID. My adress, email and cc details were all I needed. Maybe they changed that in the recent past? Anyhow, I just sell some personal stuff once in a while so I never bothered since I don't make profit on selling some used stuff, anyhow.

lanclandesigns 01-09-2005 04:57 PM

no you don't need a Tax ID number to sign up through ebay
but you need a Tax ID number to buy the wholesale stuff from wholesale places I buy from and resell it on ebay,

In other countries I would not bother, but da IRS guys are not so cool ... Why don't you buy with an offshore address and have is delivered to a US-POB ?

lanclandesigns 01-09-2005 05:39 PM

thats what I wanna do, report the wholesale buys that I resold, but I'm reselling them on someone elses ebay account and getting paid on someone elses paypal account (my brothers wife), does this matter??????

You can report it as your income. I used to use my moms paypal for ebay and reported it to the IRS. I was audited a while back and they said it was NP

I would def check with a tax lawyer or simply call your local irs agency and ask them
