I buy domains off the drop lists from time to time I was doing it quite a bit for awhile but I've since stopped for the time being.

I've noticed and I've seen people post about google banning some domains that drop. Most of the names I pick up seem to get ranked, however a few of them, no matter what I do or how many links I have in to them won't show up in google.

Is there a certain time limit for this ban? I've heard a year but is that a reliable number? These names are not names that were banned prior to dropping, most have PR before they drop which of course is lost when they drop.

I won't say too much over here... not only because I am no dropped domain expert like swami or others but I know for sure that google knows about every dropping domain puts a penalty of round about 1 year on the name... (there are expections of course which I won't post here).
this pretty much means... you are fucked when trying to use old PR on a dropped name for almost a year.

the same thing has happened to me. thats why i stopped buying the dropped names unless i do alot of research on them first.

I'd be interested in hearing the expections sometime :winkwink: So 1 year seems to be a correct number then?
