how to change the way sites look in your firefox browser
Anybody?
I'm so sick and tired of all 17" of my monitor being covered with BLINDING WHITE backgrounds, how do you screw with the CSS or whatever and replace all white Bg's with gray or something? I'd like to make Dreamweaver do the same thing, if anybody knows how! |
bizump if anyone knows

"bizzzump" just happens to be 8 characters doesn't it?

Deal with it?

My ex girlfriend said something to me the other day which made almost as much sense as your answer. She said "I quit muy job because I wasn't making enough money"... and now she's unemployed. I love logic :) |
If you're trying to make pages look the way they were designed in Internet Explorer you should use Internet Explorer:winkwink:

no i want to override the site's bgcolor.
like when you look at this page - some crappy white background link - the bg color is white. I want it to show up on my screen as something less blinding like gray (cccccc instead of ffffff) |
or even more relevant to my world - google.com! I use google a LOT and it blinds me, I want to change the background to something less painfull pleeeeeeeeeeease someone suck my fignature or tell me how to do this, I'll love you either way!

Hmm, sometimes I use View->Page Style->No Style; but that turns the background white anyways. There should be a way to do it, I'd look on a Mozilla board not gfy.

I just spent a few moments of my life looking for prefs, preferences... can you be a little more specific please? tx |
I never maximize my browser - I have a 17" monitor as well with 1280x1024 resolution - my browser probably takes up 750x550 or something.
Rarely have to scroll left/right and don't worry about too much white space and can't actually get to icons on the desktop w/o have to minimize/show desktop all the time. |
Tools, options, General, Fonts and Colors....Text and Background...change background to what you want, leave use system colors unchecked, check always use my colors.....
you are done. |
Maybe reduce the brightness/contrast levels on your monitor if you find it so "blinding." I find white backgrounds quite soothing so it may be your monitor.
