How do I transfer domain to my registrar?
I never done this...
Can someone explain when I buy domain from someone, how do I transfer it to my registrar? What do I have to do and what does the seller? tnx |
Your registrar probably has a 'transfer domain' option, just do that and input the domain you just bought. The current owner will be asked to confirm the transfer request, and its done. :thumbsup

whats the domain name, and what registrar is it at?

Many of the more popular registrars (Enom, namecheap, godaddy, moniker, registerfly, etc.) allow a fast and free "push" from one user to another. For example, if the previous owner holds the name at Namecheap.com he can "push" the name to your account at Namecheap. You do nothing except tell the seller your account ID. In an account push, the seller initiates the transaction.
I almost always choose to receive purchased domains in this manner, even if I don't plan on keeping the original registrar. It is much easier to initate a transfer to myself (from myself) at a later date after domain has been "pushed" into my account. Now if the registrar of the domain name doesn't allow fast and easy pushes you would want to transfer it to the registrar of your choosing. For example, the domain you buy is held at NameSecure.com. They do not have an internal "push" system that is fast and efficient. You have all your other domains at Enom, so you decide to transfer it there. In this situation you initiate the transfer. You would have to click on the transfer link from the main page and walk through the checkout process (all registrars require up-front payment for transfers). You enter in the domain you want transferred and then pay for the fee - which is usually the same as a new registration fee. Your current registrar will then add one year to the expiration of the domain. Once you request the transfer, the registrar contacts the current owner who must authorize the request. Then it takes about 5 business days and the name is in your account at your registrar. Since you are buying the domain, you get to choose where you want it held. Again, unless you know the seller and can trust him, it is probably better to have the domain instantly "pushed" from his account to yours at the same registrar. But if that method of exchange isn't supported, or you really want to transfer it elsewhere, then follow the steps above. Good luck. :) |
hire some one that knows. Or learn how to read the instructions at the site.

don't answer that question on a public forum good way to get it stolen.. sometimes the easiest way to transfer is to set up an account at the same registrar that the name is currently at.. Transfer it to your account and then later transfer it to your other registrar. |
Thank you all for you answers :thumbsup

I think the best way is to create an account at the same registrar and get it pushed into it.. way faster..
