you would talk to each individual record company and see what kind of cut they wanted....but if you weren't guaranteeing them millions of dollars a year in sales you can pretty much say fuck it now

too many barriers to entry IMO

figure out a way to make people stop buying and using ipods

i don't see anyone taking on itunes at least in the short term future. they are positively smoking.

Getting the license deals would be tremendous. Probably cost a lot up front too.

The only way you can compete is with price. If you're willing to front the cash and work on slim margins or loss leaders, it may be possible to steal some of their customers.

had some for years, but really bought in at around 20, it's now sitting at around 80...
