True, I wouldn't mind that again - that's 40 points on the dollar vs. now. Nice for me, as long as I don't take a trip south of the border.

magicmike 02-17-2005 09:48 PM

cool1 02-17-2005 09:55 PM

Nice to see it up a bit, means a bit more money to burn a hole in my pocket

ULVideo 02-17-2005 11:02 PM

Hey, it could be like the Dominican Peso. Last year, it was like 55 to the dollar. Now it's around 26

Pete-KT 02-17-2005 11:03 PM

good soon i can go gamble in windsor again :)

Webby 02-17-2005 11:18 PM

Shit... a $1000 US is only worth 528 UK Pounds :-(

OK.. Positive hat - it's time to buy some cheap US real estate :-)

I take it you cant buy much with 528 UK Pounds?

And that's just this last year :( It's not as far down as it was late november, but still nothing to write home about. Sucks having a currency devaluate by close to 20% in the span of half a year.

I'd be happy if the USD just fucking stood still for a little while so people could adjust with how weak its been lately. Sick of watching a currency conversion charts that look like a cardiograph. :2 cents:

Bigass landslides wiping out a bunch and a bigass hurricane wiping out the rest probably doesn't help. :Oh crap

Pretty much the same chart for the usd vs. euro:

http://fx.sauder.ubc.ca/cache/USD-EU...55-2453419.png

Not quite as dramatic a drop in value (around 15%) , but still would be quite a shock. At least it's poked its nose up a little bit lately.

Not a lot!! :) I doubt you could buy a home for less than $300-350K and that would be a shack, - more like $450-650K upwards.

Tho.. At a rate of .52 cents to the UK Pound it makes property cheap in the US or in countries that value real estate in dollars.

And... it could buy a bundle of these nice cigars they make around Tampa :-)

flashfire 02-18-2005 02:16 AM

it was better last week

Vitasoy 02-18-2005 02:33 AM

1.23 is not that bad at all.

The Sultan Of Smut 02-18-2005 02:36 AM

Right on, now hopefully it'll keep on falling :)

Dagwolf 02-18-2005 02:36 AM

A low Canadian dollar is good for companies like Platinumbucks, though, who have to pay out in USD... although I suppose it evens out since they collect membership fees in $US as well. *scratches head*

Is that right?

VeriSexy 02-18-2005 02:38 AM

Nice to see it bounce back up again :thumbsup Too bad still not 1.5 yet :(

iwantchixx 02-18-2005 04:23 AM

I hope it keeps dropping and gets back to the 1.47 days that I loved so much
