What are the biggest problems facing our world?

What do you see as the biggest problems facing our world in the next 50 years?

I would say:

1. Dwindling oil supplies
2. WMD proliferation
3. Absorbing China and others into the first world
4. Environmental issues

1) Trying to get your sig correct to generate maximum revenue?
2) Ensuring that when shooting an anal fisting scene the knuckles dont pass inside the girl or else you go straight to jail without passing go and picking up 200.
3) Keeping a straight face when telling a girl you arent about to cum when she is blowing you

This world is fucked up!

You forgot about f.e diseases, such as AIDS.

Or about how science and technology will change our lives. It changes it constantly and we do not see it, but f.e in 50 years our lives will be completely different.
Also f.e genetics and biotechnology could play a VERY important role in our lives in future.

edited - these aren't necessarly problems, but it will determine how the societies and world wil look like in the next 50 years for sure.

edited 2 - ah fuck it , i am writing my masters about these things and don't have the time to do it, so i will definitely not spend the time writing it here :1orglaugh

Destruction of regional cultures. Corporatisation of culture. Shift of focus from quality to marketability. In short, globalisation of the bland and easily digestible. Of course, all this is already happening.

I remember you remarking on Oprano how different life was in Jamaica when you visited recently. My impression was that you found it refreshing and an enjoyable change of pace. Would you want to lose that and have it replaced with half a dozen McDonalds', some strip malls, two Walmarts and a cineplex complete with food court?

Is it money that gives our lives meaning, or culture?

Why are we buying into it?

Can I have fries with that?

I thought you might have meant something different such as that the homogenization of culture will reduce the potential solutions to our problems - something like social darwinism.

Whether Jamaicans want to work in and shop at Walmart, McD's and so on is up to them. I saw a BK and a KFC billboard there. Would it be right for us to deny, say Africans, modern conveniences that they want as soon as they see them?

1. People not understanding we're all of the human race. Regardless of religion and ethnicity, we all share the same DNA.
2. Overpopulation. I guess people don't understand the concept of an environmental system's carrying capacity and what happens when it reaches its maximum.
3. Tolerance (see #1). Killing is natural. Killing someone because they believe in a different god is not.

For the human race to propogate and maintain a positive outlook on the future and confidence in themselves. The "can-do" spirit which is so prevalent in many cultures seems to be under attack by those who seek to detract rather than build upon existing models.

There are a great number of problems to solve, but only if humans believe in their ability to solve them will they be solved.

Trying to assimulate everyone into one culture instead of admiring people for their differences...instead of the great melting pot, we should be the big salad bowl..how boring would it be if we all looked, thinked and acted alike...we would stop learning and growing...
