How do I find the exact url of a post?
How do I find the exact url of a thread here at gfy? I'd like to be able to send someone right to the thread instead of them having to search for it. Any help will probably mean a ticket straight to heaven, no questions asked by that pesky St. Peter :-)

Huh? are you browsing it in frames? For me it shows everything in the address bar. Anyway just right click the page and check properties.

It just says http://bbs.gofuckyourself.net/
in my browser bar. |
how about:
UBBFriend: Email This Page to Someone! if you donīt find the link press CTRL+F and search for it easier than copy the url.. paste into email... http://bbs.gofuckyourself.net/board/smile.gif ------------------ Best Paying Sponsors: ARS - Best PayPerSignup + AVS Sponsor ICQ: 59101924 |
on the forum list - right click the title of the page you want to send and 'copy shortcut'

So you're looking at the thread now.
Find a blank area - e.g, the black at either side and right click on it. Go to "Properties" and highlight the URL next to "Address (URL)". It may be more than a few lines so just start from the top and keep the finger on the button as you move the mouse down the screen. Right click the highlighted text and select "copy" with the left button. Done and done. http://bbs.gofuckyourself.net/board/smile.gif |
another, easy way of doing it is to right click the thread title on the main page, then left click "copy shortcut" on the subsequent drop down menu.
I thought this was a webmasters board though, and there are just some basics that I would think any webmaster would know. Or am I wrong about this being a webmasters board? Just wondering. Of course, guess he could just be going for the DVD player. http://bbs.gofuckyourself.net/board/wink.gif |
I was going to say what Kat said, but I figured that you were looking at a thread on the 7th or 8th page and it would be difficult for you to go to the forum summary and find it again to right click. Both ways are good, Kat's is easier if you can see the topic in the forum summary.

OK, got it, thanks
