I hear this time after time.
That hosting company isn't professional because their website is bought from monster templates.
Hmmm ... Does hosting companies sell design? No Professional design = $100 to $1000 dollars Monster Template design = $50 sometimes more or less. To me it doesn't really matter where the design of the hosting company came from. What matters is: Does it load quickly? Is all the information I'm looking for there? Does it have adequate contact information? Does it tell me about thier network and infrastructure? Who cares if the design was bought? You never look for deals in designs? Sorry ranting on here but it gets me questioning the reality opf the people who say things like this. Business is business and if you can get a cheaper rate go for it. just my :2 cents: |
It's business. Leave the small hosters alone. Everybody starts from scratch and have humble beginnings.

if a site hosting site cant afford a custom design they are probly co located.
your website along with your company is a branding feature, if you are serious about this business why would you want it looking like any others? |
So your saying a site means everything as far as customer service and image goes?
Question: Can a hosting company sell hosting with no website at all? |

i know a few hosters who started out successfully without websites. like they say first impression is everything, although it doesnt affect customer support seeing a template makes me wonder if this websiteis just another "get rich quick" compnay. |
Well your answer says you agree with me then ... it's service not a flashy website that sells hosting?
|
As I've said before... We all start from something, somewhere... somehow.

i agree it shouldnt directly affect service but: Quote:
i do not agree, it DOES matter. i explained imo why. |

I don't take ANY site that uses anything that even LOOKS like a purchased template seriously these days. I'd rather see a simple 1995-style web page than a fuckin flash-powered template half-way-done site... it always feels like a one-man operation pretending to be a company with 20 people on the payroll.

My hosting is a one man operation ... thats why I suggest other hosting companies to people. |

1 man operations don't work in adult though. Thats why I sold out last year. It took quite a toll on me. But the point I was making is it don't matter what your site looks like in reality. The main thing is service to your customers or knowledge of what your selling. My forte is server management. Thats what I do. Out of that I usually pick up a customer for hosting and not by choice. |
